My mp starscream (walmart) has been in jet mode for ages and a few weeks ago i changed him to robot mode, he was a bit wobbly but i managed to get him in a decent pose and left him. Last night i was messing with him trying to get a better pose but he can hold any others really, his legs are wobbly and loose over the sliding mechanism, his torso doesnt lock in so he untransforms himself partially when trying to pose him, he is back heavy to the point i have to lean him forward for him to stand. I dont wanna use his stand as thats a cheat imo, anybody know of any tricks or think theres something im missing to get him to stand properly? I mainly wanna make the legs more stable but cant disassemble them as 2 screws dont seem to wanna come out, unless im trying to take them apart wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
If he comes with a stand, is it really a cheat to use it? Apparently HasTak was aware of the fact that he'd need it... A consideration they should certainly show many more of their products. //2 cents
I got my wm mp starscream/skywarp in bot mode displayed on their stands. imo, i prefer them this way because it gives that look that they're suspended in midair, which I think was the original design intent. it also helps if you have some iteration of mp prime so starscream can gank his megatron pistol. when I remember the seekers, I always imagined them spending the majority of their time midair anyway so I wanted them displayed that way.
The torso should actually lock in place pretty solidly. Might be worth double checking everything or cycling through to vehicle and back to robot mode to make sure everything is properly transformed and positioned.
I have no problem standing up my G1-colored MP Starscream (granted he's the Takara version). I also have MP-03 Greenscream and he stands up just fine too during the rare moments I have him out of his alt mode. I just have to make sure the thrust vector nozzles making up their heels are flat/flush against the surface they're standing on, and angle their thigh swivels and feet accordingly. I always turn the hip kibble skirts all the way to the rear to minimize their appearance (from the front, at least). It's not the most stable mold (I wouldn't have him displayed near the edge of a shelf without the stand, for example) but it'll hold up fine with the right fiddling.
Just checked my Starscream and his legs aren't loose at all, no slipping or sliding when posing. Also regarding back heaviness.....take the hip kibble off (just pops off the ball joint) and try again.....he'll probably be fine then. It's definitely worth doing the tailfin mod for these guys if your confident enough, improved posing ten fold.
