So, with the updated Hot Rodimus design, what would y'all think of having an update to Rodimus Convoy that actually transforms into his vehicle mode instead of just having an extra trailer with a shell?

Then, of course, would you rather be all in one like the show? (Takara can make it work), or with a removable "trailer" (we all know it isn't but whatever)?

 

An all-in-one version would be great, but I do not believe that it can be done and have the end result look like the cartoon to be honest. I would be fine therefore with a separate trailer, like the toy and like MP-9.

 

I just want a new Rodimus Prime to have a darker color scheme, a better headsculpt/facesculpt, and better articulation. Oh, and please....new hands. And engineering the transformation a little better would be nice.....just make a new MP Rodimus Prime.

 

MP-9 was an interesting experiment that failed. They tried to cram 4 modes into one figure and try and make it look toon accurate and it just didn't work, and the toy is rather fragile according to several youtube reviewers. I never bought him myself, so I can't give a personal opinion, but that seems to be the consensus.

I want an official Rodimus Prime figure, and I do believe we will get one eventually and hopefully get an MP Galvatron the same month. I would like the trailer to be seperate myself. I'd like the full battle platform. There's no reason to deny us that. The cartoon was inconsistant about whether the trailer was integrated in his robot mode or not. Sometimes it would come out when he transformed, sometimes, it would come from off screen just like Optimus.

 

I'd prefer a separate trailer. Gives him some design symmetry with MP-10.

 

I can go either way so long as neither mode was severely compromised. I'd say the line for me would be MP-22 versus MP-27: I could deal with MP Magnus levels of compromise but not MP Ironhide. Once the figure starts to fall towards the Ironhide side of that spectrum I'd want a removable trailer.

I like the idea of MP09.
You have Hot rod and Rodimus in one pack.
But looking at the plastic that are way to thin and peoples already has broken ones or plastic breaking.
It's a fail.
Maybe 3rd party can remake it and do it better.

 

I just want an updated MP Rodimus and I'll be happy whether it has a separate trailer or it's folds up.

 

I love MP28. Just sell a trailer add-on that comes with a new face. Hmm. I'm not sure if the face is removeable or not on MP28. I'll have to check.

 

It's definitely coming sooner or later. I'm hoping for a detachable trailer.

 

If l had any say, the trailer would remain the same and the bot would be all new. Without the Hot Rod mode tacked on it will be a much more solid figure. Hell just having anew toon head would make all worth it to me, look how well they nailed Megatron.

 

As much as i am hoping for a gurren lagaan lookalike, like dx9' s all in one manly rodimus, kobayashi and takara would just make him a taller beefier mp 28 with a battle station trailer and lotsa accessories and potentially a targetmaster that came with hasbro' s mp09. This time he will have hands that are not tiny like childs hopefully

 

Although I'm more than happy with DX9 Studio Ox inspired Rodimus Prime, if a new MP Rodimus Prime is made, I'll likely get him. (LIkely, since I haven't been that impressed with the MP's lately.)

An all in one would be great, but even though I don't really care about trailer bases, I still think I prefer a seperate trailer.

A set up like in "The Face of Nijika" where Rodimus transforms into a Hot Rod-like car (just thinker and without an exposed engine block) and then the trailer attached over this. (I really wish the had done that with MP-9, instead of that fake altmode.) That would be my preferance.





And he should be much darker red, not have a stupid backpack (like MP-9 and 28) and be a bit smaller as Optimus (scale chart and the impression I always got).

 

I want a separate trailer for the space Winnebago mode.

I want Rodimus to be Optimus Prime's height. I'd also want him to be dark red in colour.


RP isn't just a taller Hot Rod. Almost everything about him changes when he becomes Prime.

 

I want a perfect Rodimus and also a redo of Ultra Magnus. The MP version IMO is terrible. Way too big

 

As long as they don't try to do the "It's Hot Rod AND Rodimus Prime" schtick of the earlier MP, I'll probably be OK with it.

I thought they nailed Ultra Magnus. I see no reason to redo it myself. He's toon accurate in look and scale imo.

I have no strong opinion! I like my BIS Classics Hot Rod well enough, and I don't plan on getting an MP version of Rodimus as I am ambivalent to the character. The only Hot Rod I'm interested in is an IDW styled one, and I think MMC has that covered.

 

He certainly does capture the look of the cartoon. I just find him to be a lot thicker than the animation. Mind you I have never had him in hand. And I hated Ironhide till I handled it, then I absolutely loved it. I just find it to be too thick, much like I see Maketoys Despotron as too thick
