OK guys I have a question. I can get MP Hot Rod ( if he were Rodimus Prime he'd be a Space Winnebago, have black shins, and no Target master, he doesn't so he is Hot Rod) for $49.99 with a TRU $10.00 off coupon I got in the mail. I want MP Roddy, but he isn't my fav character and ther are a few things about the figure that I don't care for. Like the too skinny knees, the kinda wimpy looking hands, and the "I'm constapated" face they gave him.

Option 2 is to wait awhile longer, to sell some more stuff on ebay ( got a complete G1 Galvatron and G1 Scorponok going up soon ), And get a NIB MP Grimlock for between $100 & $120. Grimlock is my favarite character after Optimus and the only issues I have with that figure is it's smaller than it should be size.
Option 3 is the same as option 2 only I pay between $90 & $105 for a complete lightly used loose MP Grimlock.
The TRU coupon expires 8/27/2011 and a family member has it with them today as they make the 70 mile drive to Cape Girardeau, MO. The closest town to me with a TRU.

I'd definitely pick Grimlock over Rodimus. With your $50 you're already 1/2 way there.

I think you should go for option 2. You're already minded towards Grimlock it seems. If you go for a mint one it's likely it'll be a reissue one which fixes the tail chrome scratching problem.

It seems you've made up your mind on Grimlock ages ago, but are depending on the forum to help you push the big red button that confirms all collecting decisions. So, get yourself a Grimlock and be done with it.

Since it's the TRU Rodimus version, that's an easy one, I also recommend Grimlock. Grimlock has better colors and more sturdier.

Grimlock. But do not let the $10 coupon go to waste. If TRU has the BOGO sale still going on and you can layer the $10 I recommend you buying two Hot Rods for $80, hooking up two people at retail cost for $120, and the $40 goes to Grimlock. Everyone wins!

Might not have a choice, here's hoping you do.

Also, what are you going to do with your coupon if you don't get Roddy?

Edit: And if you can find 2 Roddy's I would, use the coupon, grab 2 roddy's for the BOGO and sell the other on teh bay.

Not exactly I'll get MP Grim eventually anyway, later this year or early next year. I do want MP Roddy dispite my few dislikes with the fugure, but I know that I would never pay over $70 or $80 for one NIB. Where as I'd pay over $100 for any of the other MP figures ( had my eye on a Starscream lately too, BIG fan)
So in the future I'll have a Grimlock, but it's probably now or never for Hot Rod.

I don't guesse I know what you mean by " layer the $10". But when was this BOGO at TRU taking place.

I'd so go with Grimlock also. He's basically a timeless piece. It will never get old or dull, he's easily my favorite transformer of the past couple of years.

I'd get Roddy while he is in stores and you have the coupon, as his price will surely skyrocket (like Grimlock did) when they sell out.

I think MP Grimlock's price will probably maintain for a few more months, so if you can sell some things or save some money, you can get him then.

Well then, I don't really see what the issue is here. Get Rodimus while he's hypothetically available in-store with your coupon and save up for Grimlock later. It just really seemed like you were already convinced on getting Grimlock first because of your enthusiasm for the character compared to Hot Rod. Based on what you were saying, Hot Rod just seemed like a purchase that you'd later regret, or that's at least what you made it seem like - and I know I'm not alone with this sentiment. That's the sort of problem I have with these threads. Someone really makes it obvious that they're leaning in one direction, but they totally flip the table on you.

The "Buy One, Get One 50%" lasts until Saturday, tomorrow. Before TRU would allow you to use more then one deal together or layer. That means you could use the BOGO to get $30 off and then layer the coupon to get an additional $10 off. They've started changing some of that. If the $10 is Reward Points then it's not a coupon so there will be no conflict.

It's also called deal stacking. Prolly depends like you say on whether it's a coupon or a points reward.
