True, G1 Rodimus Prime had a very simplistic transformation, but so did G1 Grimlock. Given how well Grimlock's MP turned out, I have no doubts about this one.

 

And the same goes for G1 Prime BTW.
I think this Masterpiece will turn out fine  

 

Actually, I think his trailer went into subspace like the one Optimus had in G1. I don't remember the exact episode (it may have been Grimlock's New Brain), but the Autobot's were exposed to a signal that messed up their transformations, and Rodimus kept going back and forth from vehicle to bot mode. You could clearly see his trailer pulling back from his legs and going off screen no where to be found just like Optimus's did.

Should be interesting to see how this turns out, and how Hasbro's inevitable release will look in comparison. I would have preferred Rodimus(Hot Rod) instead of Rodimus Prime, but oh well.

 

Fantastic! I'm actually more excited about this than I was for Starscream, Grimlock or even Optimus. This will be the most EPIC SPACE WINNEBAGO EVER!!!.

Thanks S250 for the pic and info. I'm going to buy this no matter what, but it would seem like a waste not to have an ultra sized Hot Rod with a switchable face that attaches to the trailer in vehicle mode to become Rodimus. I really think that this is what we will get for about $200.00.

I'm hoping this Rodimus Prime will be the same size as MP Optimus Prime. Even better would be a 2 in 1 Rodimus / Hot Rod. But, at the minimum, I'd like him to have a matrix chamber in his chest like Optimus.

Can't wait to see a Cartoon-accurate, super-poseable Galvatron with sound clips from the movie...
