I honestly don't know what I'd do with a red Bee. I like the idea of turning him into Stinger though.

I'm all for the MP line following the G1 mold pattern (none of this turning Sideswipe into Sunstreaker or Wheeljack into Tracks), but I'd make an exception for turning Bumblebee into Goldbug. Same alt mode, same size, same bot mode body plan (hood feet, roof chest). New head, remold the upper arms, hips, legs, and maybe figure out a way to get the backpack to sit higher behind the head and you're pretty much there. Certainly wouldn't be any worse than MP Red Alert, who follows the G1 pattern of being a tweaked Sideswipe but still misses the mark of cartoon accuracy in the eyes of a lot of collectors. Goldbug's such a minor character in the animation (which is what TT cares about) that I'd be completely ok with this.

Because Glyph was a Botcon exclusive character. And, since this is a line for Japanese collectors, Glyph will appeal to them how?

 

That's good, as getting him direct from Japan would probably prove difficult.

 

I'll give Takara props for doing a lesser known toy homage of Bee. Though I would love to see Takara do a Diaclone Powered Convoy repaint of MP Ultra Magnus.

 

Red Bumblebee was the shelfwarmer in the States back in the day. While I am okay with it, making a fan-made character for him as Roadwise years ago (an Autobot who left the Ark crew to study humans and become a scholar...became a car and forgot he was a Transformer...never to be seen again), I doubt others will be as thrilled.

 

I've tried not to get into Masterpiece collecting, but the urge is breaking man. Obscure nonsensical repaints are just plain beautiful.

I need this because just a thought of a red Bee that isnt Bee is just so damn awesome.

When Hasbro brought the G1 Transformers into the US market, they got some overstock of the Microman and Diaclone toys. For that reason, there were red Bumblebees and yellow Cliffjumpers that were sold at retail. There were also some yellow Toyota Familias that were sold with Cliffjumper cards, I believe. This is who would later be dubbed Bumblejumper by the fandom, and later Bumper in official canon.

 

Red Bumblebee huh? I'm disappointed that this isn't a new character.

Both Ladybug and Stinger work for me.

 

It's like Pringles...once you pop, you can't stop! Lol. I say this through experience but don't regret a single bit.

With that said, I'm jumping once preorders are up from Japanese retailers.

 

If this is an exclusive, and a Satellite exclusive at that, AmiAmi/HLJ/Hobby Search won't put it up for order (not sure about Anime Export).

 

I'm sure a 3rd party will do some stuff.
