Just saw a post from Arturo on facebook, saying MP37 and MP39 (39 being Jazz, and i guess 37 is Hoist). No idea if any of this is true, so just posting it as rumor until confirmed i guess. Mods, pls delete if found false.

Edit: Mods, I think maybe there must have been a previous thread created for this, as when I now look, i see another image of Jazz on his facebook from back in end of september. Pls merge if so, or delete if necessary.

 

Why would Takara make Hoist before Trailbreaker? It's like making a prequel to a movie.

 

Maybe Jazz is MP37, and Hoist is MP39 - that would make sense as Trailbreaker would be MP38...

 

Who is Arturo? Has anyone confirmed this isn't just fan art?

 

Well Grapple is coming out soon, perhaps they release Hoist as a partner to him. Similar to how they rereleased Red Alert to coincide relatively closely with Inferno's release (or at least they were announced relatively close together). Takara does seem to be into the partnerships with their releases. So it does not surprise me if they do release Hoist soon after Grapple with Hoist's mold-mate Trailbreaker released shortly after that.

 

Why does a s1 repaint have to come out before a s2? On the back of Inferno and Grapple, Grapple especially, Hoist actually makes sense. Trailbreaker would naturally follow at some point though.

 

It'd be a serious challenge to be produce an animation accurate Trailbreaker and Hoist from the same mold anyway. No getting away with a new head and different backpack - they're fundamentally differently shaped and proportioned.

 

I think we're safe to assume this is nothing more than fan art. Takara don't seem to be releasing modern MP's (or any MP's?) with this kind of sketched art. They also label MPs with a hyphen (MP-38)
The most telling point for me though is that this skips MP-38. A lot of people assumed Megs would be 38 (cause of the P38 gun mode) Whoever created this left MP-38 out under the guess that would be Megs. We've since seen otherwise.
Just guessing of course but these kinds of "sketched" imagery really don't seem to fit in with Takaras style. Finally, have Takara ever shown two pre-release figures at once? The closest I can think of is Red Alert+ and Inferno (or maybe Hot Rod and Shockwave)?

 

Yeah, Im inclined to believe in this point in the line Trailbreaker is going to be more than a simple repaint/remold. I dont know who you would pair Trailbreaker with,a +Prime or Sunstreaker? A MP-Hoist coming could be a sign they have big plans coming like big green plans

I really couldn't have cared if takara would be making a hoist, xtb's got my vote, also, that jazz is feeling a cold slither with licensing if takara's makin' it.

I've seen that before. That's not funny.

 

Don't think so. Look at the details. The 'leaked' one has a square left white elbow whereas BC doesn't. At the angle the leaked one is you'd see that slither of orange under the hood chest if it was BC. That's ignoring BC's has no detailing on the outer shoulder and the truck kibble wings behind the shoulders are completely different shapes.

Of course they look similar but devil is in the detail.

 

thats not badcube's or x transbots hoist , either its another third party's hoist or it is infact takara ...... time will tell

 

I won't say it has to, but it just seems to have been that way so far.......but then with TT who knows? Let's see, with the exception Frenzy(Red) coming out before Rumble(Blue/purple), the more prominent/recognisable one of mold brothers seems to come out first, the Lambor mold, Sideswipe, the van mold, Ironhide, the datsun mold, Prowl and the fire truck mold, Inferno!

So it seems that more than likely Trailbreaker will be next regardless of whatever friendship they had in the toon. I'm sure Hoist will follow and will be a very heavy retool like the coneheads.

 

Hopefully the next reveal will be soon. So we can confirm if this is true or to end this once and for all.
