Would you be interested in seeing a Masterpiece G1 Ironhide and Ratchet that is in scale with Grimlock and the Seekers and would you buy it?

I mean why not?... Ironhide and Ratchet came out in the first movie, IMO they look cool (Oldschool Toyata van is OG epic), if any toy needed a proper masterpiece update... It would definitely be them and Takara can use the mold more than once.

Sure, it doesn't sound like a bad idea to me. I'm not a big fan of those characters but I would probably bite. 

I wish Takara would pick up the pace on Masterpiece Figures. 2-3 new figures a year would be fantastic .

 

Not really... I'm content with the Ratchet's and Ironhide's we already have.

I would personally prefer to see some non-G1 characters in the MP line...

I've always found cartoon versions of G1 Ironhide and Ratchet to have really dull robot modes.

I honestly like those weird windshield headed rocket sled bots (the actual g1 toys) better than the cartoon bots. I thought they were more interesting looking and had more personality.

 

^ I feel the opposite, I think their alt modes were really weak. I'm sure the MP designers could rock the shit out of their bot modes.

 

Depends on whether they were good toys or not. And even then, I'd only get one of them per my "one-version-of-each-mold" rule.

 

Definitely. I'm all for anything that means 1. new MP molds that kick ass and 2. molds that can be reused to create extra MP toys in a shorter amount of time than by going with one new mold at a time.

It depends on the execution. I'd rather have a Masterpiece version of another Dinobot or Shockwave though.

These are two characters who ahve probably been shafted most in terms of having shit toys over the years.

at this point, no, because I've already made my own out of the movie voyager rescue ratchet mold.

 

I would love to own a Masterpiece G1 Ironhide! I'm not too fussy about Ratchet, but if they did produce one then I'd probably buy him if I found him on sale anywhere.
