Actually, yes I would LOVE a repaint of this with a new head. Like Glyph, or toy styled Red Bumblebee. That would be awesome.

Oh...wait...you think Cliffjumper is a repaint??? Hahahaha. Well, I guess if you can't see that, then you can't see why it's a good figure.

For Bug Bite, Glyph, or a G2 version, sure I can see people wanting that.

If you’re thinking Cliffjumper is just a repaint of Bumblebee with a new head sculpt, then you’re missing a lot in your observation. :)

Fans Toys is cartoon inspired with it's own unique flair, and at the same time it's going to have the engineering of a goddamn shoebox.

X-Transbots has the backpack of a weekend camper and the looks of a bygone era.

MMC's has wonky proportions and a face only a mother could love.

Yeah, we have a clear winner here and it's neither of those.

Nope. Cliffjumper is a considerable remold, far from a simple repaint.

It's always a hit and miss with 3P. Phoenix, awesome, the face a bit not just right(love the guy btw, not selling it ever). Face design accuracy? That's where TT excels of course. As for proportions, this is the Penny racer inspired design right? So what's the argument here?o_O

The opinions in this thread are either unironic “Takara can do no wrong” bootlicking, or uninformed takes from people who don’t own/haven’t handled the molds in question.

There is no middle ground, and it’s hilarious to watch.

There’s 2 types of people in this world

    1. People that love this Cliffjumper
    And
    2. People that hate that people love this Cliffjumper

Like most threads at this point. Thread is 86 pages deep, at this point people no whether or not they're showing up for this party. If you start from the beginning I'm sure you'll find many more opposing view of people sh!tting on it or seeking validation of whichever Cliffjumper they bought/ will buy.:)

Just a reminder, staff here is fine with you discussing MP Cliffjumper, try talking about the toy itself rather than talking about the fans of it/fans of alternatives.

Hmmm, gotta agree with @Shin Densetsu. As for the toy itself, I've listened to the arguments but besides the less than perfect feet, really not sure how much more like the anime model the rest of him can feasibly look tbh.

Think that'd have to cross the line into "expecting too much."

Nope. I'm as confident in this Cliff as Cliff Barnes in a courtroom. And that's confident ...

Now please Takara, announce the thing already.

I like it. I have 3P FansToys figs, and they\'re not totally screen accurate. Big heads with clean boxy bodies. It won\'t be possible unless we have advanced nanotech on our toys.

I got Bee ver 2.0, yeah back pack is a mess, I display it with fan mod transformation feet. I love the articulation.
I gotta have this official MP Cliffjumper to match it.

I can't speak for anyone else here, but my opinion on this is based on the BB from which this was retooled. Looking dead-on from the front, sure, it looks fairly accurate to the toon. But from the sides and back and feet, where you can visibly see where everything has folded up ... Just doesn't seem toon accurate to me. I think there are companies doing toon accurate figures out there that clean up much better without as much exposed kibble, and that just makes these look inferior by comparison.

Man that’s really carrying on :ev:

But seriously, I think this thing looks amazing. I finally steeled myself to quit MP and TT just reigns me back in.

No worries, man. All fair comment it's your right to express.

Notwithstanding the fact I think the Bee mould is the worse of the two, the way I see it, it's a bit of a give with one hand, take with the other scenario really.

While I think the backs of the feet overall in both moulds COULD have been better engineered, if he cleaned up perfectly from all angles in the way that you're describing, compromises would have to show up elsewhere in the figure - maybe even from the front.

The Fans Toys one, for example, is cleaner but also chunkier and less lithe so to speak.

I guess as most collectors like myself display these things front on, Takara work to preference that front view when making accomodations for overall bot mode aesthetics, and I'd personally rather they sacrificed aspects of the back and sides than that.

Oh....wait...it's a slight remold....wow, very observant.....it still looks like ass. Hahahaha. The fact that the original mold mate, MP-45, that abomination is still readily available at Omegalock, 2+ years after its initial release says it all really. When you have hardcore Bee fanboy like Ambitron at a loss for words to defend a bumblebee figure, you know you've done fucked up. This Cliffjumper has a great alt-mode I'll give it that, full of G1 goodness but frankly that's about where anything good about it begins and ends spectacularly, it looks terrible. MEH!

    Fixed.
