Based on the admittedly poor picture, the combined mode looks too lanky for my taste. I prefer my Powermaster Prime to be a chunky boi; luckily I'm sure plenty of folks will offload their Power Basers so I can finally reacquire one.

That's not the impression I get from the rough translations.

Those suggest to me that the toy stickers come with MP-60. If so, then to create a toy Super Ginrai, like I would prefer, would mean getting MP-60 + MPG and then apply the stickers from MP-60 on the MPG. Thus the need to both MP-60 and the MPG for a toy Super Ginrai.

And is MPG just the trailer or both cab and trailer?

Honestly compared to mp-44 price's, having an optimus+powermaster±plus trailer that combines with the main bot for 300 even less depending on the retailer is pretty impressive

Pretty sure the thighs are just a trick of the lighting/low image quality like how the red eyes on mp-60 were non existent on the original leaked image. That or they entirely scooped out the core bot's thighs as well

NOW WE HAVE ACHIEVED FULL GREAT GOOGLEY MOOGLEY!

Wait, you serious? Or just speculating loudly?

(*excitedly raises hand*) OOH! I also believe a HasLab project is unnecessary for a CHUG Super Ginrai and God Bomber! And your idea is the best implementation I've heard! Let's see it for the line-up after 2025!

Well, there it is. Not the most consumer-friendly move by Takara for the people who prefer the toy deco.

I'm still interested, but I guess I'll just settle for the anime one.

So long as the yen/pound is stable at the current rate, price isn’t worrying me. The more I look, the more I like the core Ginrai.

Powermaster Optimus Prime was the last Transformer I got as a kid. Definitely picking this up. Although that third party is looking pretty sick and cheaper too.

Trailer confirmed to be MPG? If so that gives me hope even more for Big.

Shocked at the Price, in a good way. I thought that it would be more.

I am still on the fence as I have my original G1 Powermaster Optimus however mine has the engine issue where it can't stay in flushed

If it is both the cab and trailer I might be thinking about getting it otherwise to purchase two separate items is a deal breaker for me

Powermaster Prime was my first transformer ever, back in 86 or 87. I may have to get this, although if I'm being picky, from these blurry pics the proportions of the combined mode look a bit off. Like his arms and torso should be a bit bulkier.

I hope those arms are mistransformed in truck mode. They look pretty silly.

Either way, my interest is gonna hinge on if there's a Marvel head. Or, dare to dream, a full Marvel deco release, but given that they're doing this "turn the toon release into the toy release with stickers" thing, that seems pretty unlikely.

So I don't particularly follow the Masterpiece line(s), how is their availability? Do they tend to preorder sell-out if they are super popular characters? I have to imagine this one is more in demand than some other ones.
I'm on the fence at the moment until more info comes out, and we start seeing how prices look from various retailers.

Let's get one thing straight, the posing is terrible on all TT MP promo pics because they use CGI

The KFC PMOP is pretty mediocre from what a friend of mine has showed me, it's got a good few QC issues and the trade mark KFC jank to it.

As for the Fanshobby... Bro it's rough and I really wouldn't recommend it. Just from the grainy images here I can tell you this MPG Ginrai mogs them both.

God, imagine a Fire Guts redeco of this and Godbomber...

Ok, so as a ‘completionist’ collector, what Takara has done here bugs me. I have no real ‘connection’ to Ginrai from a nostalgia standpoint. However, I take pride in the fact that I haven’t missed a main-line MP release since Lambor, and I’m only missing three ‘specialty’ releases, 29+, 36+, and 44S. Now, they’ve gone and split this character across the MPG and MP lines, so I need to make a choice. I think I’m gonna skip MP-60 and just get the complete package in the MPG release (cuz that’s the ‘real’ character, right?), but I will be forever haunted by the gap in my mainline MP collection, and at a nice round number, 60. The recolors of the train bots came out in MPG, why not toy-colored, standalone Ginrai? One of my eventual grandkids is gonna ask, “…but where is number 60?” Why couldn’t he have been #62, or something like that ? It was a good run, and I guess I would have needed to make a decision to not ‘catch ‘em all’ sooner or later (probably sooner as, I am 10 months away from being a half-century old).

So what exactly is the MPG line?

My understanding is the Trainbots were made to appeal to train collectors; the trains are hyper realistic.

With Ginrai, is the trailer some speciality, real world thing with an anniversary coming up?

It’s not a big deal because I’m 100% getting the figure, but trying to figure out what to expect from the MPG line in the future.

What @mx-01 archon said is accurate. The text states that MPG-09 comes with stickers to make Super Ginrai toy accurate.

MPG has so far been limited to figures that combine. The G stands for ‘Gattai’ (Japanese for merge/combine), ‘Grand’ and ‘Great’. This means traditional combiners, but also things like God/Super Ginrai. According to the Japanese text in the solicitation, Ginrai merges (Gattai) with his trailer, hence his inclusion in the MPG line rather than regular MP line. The ‘Grand’ and ‘Great’ aspects are purposefully vague and could mean we may see other types of large characters in the line in the future, alongside combining figures.
