How hard would it be for Kotobukiya or Bandai to start including JG1 as part of their pla lines? Those kits have a general "close enough" scale for all sorts of combining super robots. Currently all sorts of Super Robo and Brave are already covered so you could have something like Voltron next to God Ginrai in a comparable size for screen accurate bots. Throw in one of the many Valkyrie kits for a VF-1S and you'll have the NA 80's robot trifecta at a manageable size without dropping over a grand.

I don’t think Bandai would get in on it, but Kotobukiya’s already done some Transformers kits in their chibi D-Style lineup (alongside some Brave and Eldran hero mecha), plus they’ve also got their still-running Bishoujo Transformers statues.
Dunno how likely it’d be for them to start doing Transformers kits like their Brave stuff but I certainly would not say it’s impossible.

The Sentai pla line always feels like a consolation prize to the real thing to me once I have it built in hand. I know some people love them. But I enjoy the cold hard chonk of the originals...

Why not both? We already know MPG is on the way so a smaller option more flexible for large Super Robot displays would be great.

I would personally love a Super Robot display consisting of Braves with God Ginrai and (Devil) God Fire Convoy book ending it. Technically that will be possible with the MPG, HasLab, and various Brave revivals coming through but I won't have room for such a beast of a display. At Moderoid or SMP scale though, it's possible.

Both would be great. Sadly, Bandai isn't interested in both regarding Super Sentai, which would end up in Soul of Chogokin for modern DX versions of the 80's mechs.

They're alright, most of them I do agree with this sentiment. I think where the line really shines are the massive base vehicles or playsets. And weirdly the gaomachine line is sick. To bring this back to TF, I could totally see a smaller scale line of super robot Plamo to get that real late JG1 scale creep depicted on a shelf.

Me too definitely prefer the vintage Sentai Megazord instead of Sentai MiniPla.

Either they touched it up or they're working with a new test shot that doesn't have paint damage.

This is the first time I've seen something disappointing on MPG-09, though (aside from the overly tall arm pylons in trailer mode and I'm pretty much over that). Not being able to fold down the entirety of the back flap means you'll only be able to jab other Powermasters in there, I guess. I know it was an afterthought even on the original but you could at least pull the whole section down and maybe shove a minibot or Throttlebot in there.

I didn't realize how, plain I guess, the core robot looked without the silver stripe in bot mode.

It's anime accurate yes but the way the sculpt is with the abdomen pieces not being the same width as the chest like the toon model, it does feel more like the core mold was made for the toy look with the toon look being secondary.

Yeah, TT switched to using CGI instead of hand painted prototypes for the majority of their Masterpiece promotional materials a few years ago.

They first started doing it with MP-55 Nightbird in the MP line-up:
    トランスフォーマー マスターピース|トランスフォーマーオフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー
And all of MPG (except for Kaen as pointed out by @Throway) since the beginning:
    トランスフォーマーMPG|トランスフォーマーオフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー

The painted proto was on display at the toy shows, but all other material in magazines and official website is CGI.

They used the painted proto in the early promotional materials. It even has the same paint chip in the same location as the proto used at the toy show. Maybe they've used CGI in the past but this looks more like a newly made test shot with better paint...at least to me...

No CG is advanced enough to be able to mimic the plastic flashing around the pin holes for the joints though.

it’s CGI. It’s the same model they use in the official promo material here:
    MPG-09 スーパージンライ|トランスフォーマーオフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー

    And here:
    MP-60 ジンライ & MPG-09 スーパージンライ|トランスフォーマーオフィシャルサイト|タカラトミー

Heck, many of the shots are literally the exact same that were used in the promo material in the above two links.
