Could we update the first post with the figure king scans?

also, scale discussion is stupid. Regardless of his size, Ginrai will never be a chug figure because he is not released in those lines. He’s in an MPG box. That means he’s an MP. End of discussion. Use him however you want but that doesn’t make him a chug figure. Same goes for the Trainbots.

It's some sort of special booklet celebrating the 100th (and last) MP iirc

Have we seen the pages for any other Transformers product yet? I thought we would we have seen all the pages by now. I keep wondering if I missed it.

Well then that may be all we are getting this time. I have ordered the Generations Hero-X book and I think it's coming out in June. I'm assuming that will have more Ginrai goodness in it.

Its just easier to read the notations with the hi-res photos

I want to say this is a hybrid, but it leans so much in the original toy, I dont know quite how to define it. Probably the first toy-based altmode/ toon bot. I wonder is that going to be just for this release? Masterforce releases? Or JPG1 releases? My only problem with that, is I prefer Masterforce's solution for the Pretenders versus the toy solution. I would hope they would stick with that.

Totally different model, but that tiny blue truck reminds me of how Hasbruh reckoned they'd reuse the T30 Legends class IDW Optimus Prime as Huffer (and then a lame light blue repaint as "Pipes")...like...that body type doesn't even look like Huffer or Pipes.

......and that's Hasbro, they have as much sayso in the MP line as they do in the Diaclone reboot line.

Oh, so we're not allowed to call these Dinobots, then. Because, Hasbro?

    Yeah, okay.

People need to get over labels. The Masterpiece gatekeeping is getting a little overbearing.

Well Masterforce used the toys as their animation influence quite a bit, especially for Ginrai's alt mode. So this is a weird case where it is animation accurate but ALSO toy accurate to some extent because of that. Especially the truck cab. Also see that giant flap on Minerva's back in the show as further evidence of this. That's the only way I can accept MP Ginrai's size and alt mode appearance. They are going for Masterforce accurate which is toy influenced. Kind of like how the Sunbow season 2 Autobots like Red Alert and Hoist look more like their toys than Sideswipe or Trailbreaker. Same idea.

    :lol  that's great :lol

Like a religion or outdated belief. "You put the CHUGs and the MPs on the same shelf?!? What's next?

Who cares? Jokes aside, I do get the style argument, but MP style has changed like what 5 times over its life time?

    1. MP1-5?
    2. MP6-MP26
    3. MP27- MP59
    4. MP60
    5. MPG(?)

Even now, with MPG9, this guy is not pure toon, rather an awesome mix of toy and cartoon.

I mean they likely still have some sort of a say given all the recent MP’s are being imported directly through hasbro pulse to the states after the brand unification. And that can’t happen unless they pass US safety laws.

Let’s remember that Hasbro and Takara are a joint venture and work together, even when they have their own lines separate from each other.

Not appreciating the “putting hysterically marginalized groups in the same category as toy robots” thing…even as a joke.

The Hasbro say boils down to: we import it or we don't. If Hasbro had any sway over the line then Raiden wouldn't have happened.

Ya missed the point. Hasbro doesn’t have a say in what they make, but again they literally work together, and import their figures. Since they want them imported directly, that means they must pass certain US laws. Those US laws wouldn’t be followed unless Hasbro requested them to do so for the sake of importing.

Again they literally co-own transformers, you can’t just pretend they don’t interact with each other.

I think I get what you are saying. They wouldn't be able to directly import it via Pulse if it didn't match the safety standards, correct?
