Conflicted on this. Always saw jetfire as a one and done with FT. But the articulation on phoenix absolutely sucks, it's the classic Fanstoys big bot, looks great in A stance but nothing else figure... Could they not have just officially made cliffjumper next so my wallet isn't broken from all this and trailbreaker!

Should the title of the thread be changed now?

All my G1 Masterpiece figures just stand in a detolf all the time so the FTs version is plenty good enough for me. Plus, he's not a character worth "upgrading" imo. I could see if the difference was like MP-10 to MP-44 but Jetfire is not on that level. Plus, I got Phoenix as a gift years ago for the standard $220, which seems like an absolute bargain compared to what Takara is charging for stuff nowadays.

I've got mine in detolfs and I still pose and use risers etc. The standing to attention look I hate but just personal preference. Phoenix in my mind would have had wonders done to it if it had a better ankle rocker, not saying it's bad, phoenix is a stand out MP.

That thumbnail image has him looking bulky!

Not really an MP collector but I’m interested to see how this turns out and what they set the price at. Think I’m going to be good with Siege Jetfire though.

It's true they don't take credit cards registered overseas, however, you can use Amazon Pay if you have a card registered on amazon.jp - and you CAN register non JP cards on Amazon JP (I have....)

You can also use freight forwarders to get TT to deliver to a JP address, and then forward on to you. It will cost a bit more in the long run, but I'm setup to do just that.

He's not showing up yet anyway on the TT MP page:
    トランスフォーマー/マスターピース おもちゃ・グッズ通販│タカラトミー公式通販サイト「タカラトミーモール」

There *is* a separate page for the MPG's though.

I think it's a function of retail engineering improving at a faster rate than MP engineering. Ten years ago, it would be unheard of for a Generations toy to be comparable to a MP. Siege Jetfire really is a testament to how far Generations has come.

Glad to see this but really concerned about the cheap hollow plastic syndrome in a figure that will be really expensive.

Following that thread, there's a lot of KO talk. Like either this is obtaining official parts to go towards making the KO, or even this is a KO being produced! Ughhh. That MP-44 looks like it could be the KO (or prototype of KO) since it seems to have those scallops cut out the piece beside the knee caps, which the first KO version had.

I've just realised he comes with mini figures and a Decepticon emblem. Looks like Prime, Wheeljack? Not sure about the third...Hound?

Will be sweet if they look good next to Perceptor, Bee a d Brawn from XTB Jansen.

Edit - is that a visor faceplate at the bottom too?!

Looks great, and a decade ago would be an automatic purchase. Way overdue. I’ve completely stepped away from MP however, and am more than satisfied with Siege. Good for those who still want this.

it’s not the MP-44 KO. It doesn’t have the butt-ugly fat elbows. Could be a test shot (test shot collectors tend to collect many). I do wonder if the damaged S1 head was a real possibility (Return of Optimus Prime was an AKOM episode right?)

Liking what I see so far.
He looks spot on to the cartoon, nicely proportioned (by my standards), and looks to scale good enough.

So far my only minor complaint is the use of (what seems to be) the old Dinobot/seekers 2.0 display stands, which are completely useless for bot mode. They were short for the seekers, now imagine using them on a figure that doubles their size.

I've used "Google lens" to attempt a translation of the text, and apparently my primarily thoughts on those minifigs were right. They are meant to be used in alt mode, to replicate the scenes where they are boarding the jet.

Ah yeah - I forgot about the KO altered elbows, or never knew - pick one. So that's a real test shot then. Maybe early official 44 protos had those scallops out the knees and that made it over to the KO, but was revised for the final official? First I ever saw of that S1 damaged head, too! Cool.
