Thanks. I'll give it another shot after I fix the leg.

I'm plenty good with fixing it. All the hardware looked to be there (at first glance), just assembled incorrectly. Should be an easy under five minute fix.

Thanks. Should be fine. I'll post legitimate pics once he's all squared away.

I really, really hope they don't sleep on the idea:

They totally looks like way better than the core class /legends figure with the MPG

Yeah, saw it a an hour ago, but was in doubt to post about it.
I mean, a 'review' with - what is basically a gigantic disclaimer - subjective style preference to such large an extent.....What's the merit of it other than echoing one is in either toon camp or anti-toon camp?

Ontopic; I can't say I have experienced any flexing of seamlines as he claims to have on that copy. Like I posted earlier and in my pictorial review; visible screwholes heatmap FT10 vs MP57....the fewer amount of visible screws is moreso a plus to imo, than a detriment.

He's fixed and transformed properly! The leg ratchet wasn't screwed in all the way.
    A fresh from surgery pic.

I had an issue with my hip screw, it would not hold. I ended up replacing it with a better screw.

Do you recall the size and type of screw needed?

I want to take a moment to advocate the jetmode.

    Gappy?

Look, the design is a collection of uneven shapes in the first place.
It's an interplanetary space cruiser which happens to operate within atmosphere as well - but aerodynamics are deliberately secondary with this design.

More importantly, MP57 confirms that his propulsion emits from his arms situated within the backpack. Who says those "gaps" can't be airintakes, used when he flies within Earth atmosphere?

Hemce, I'd say all this noise of gap criticism is just unhealthy obsession with smoothed out shapes - which shouldnt really apply as a qualifier to the Skyfire as a jet design in the first place.

People have different ideas. I showed my dad the jet mode while transforming since he was marveling at the engineering (my parents are visiting Japan for 3 months. It’s a blessing) of how much time it takes to go from prototype to final form figuring out how all the panels and pieces fit to form the figures. He said he found the bot mode much more convincing than the jet mode since the legs sort of just laid there. I showed him a picture of his alt mode in a cartoon and he said he thinks the robot mode looks awesome. I told him I think both modes are really good. But hey, that’s feedback from someone who isn’t deep into the figures that prefers the bot mode more. I don’t consider it wrong and don’t disagree with him. I just said cool, I like both and we both agreed that the transformation engineering on this guy was top notch

We're all just spoiled with this era's toy engineering awesomeness! Regardless of company be it TT or the Big B!:)  Again, in Hound's case crappy materials(like MP09)! MP-44 (we already know why).

But who would have imagined after almost 40years, we get to actually play with this non aerodynamic fictional jet aircraft based on an actual function but now defunct instrument of destruction aka the Grumman F-14A aka the Macross VF1.

I should show my pops Trailbreaker. He always drove trucks when he went to work. I think the Fusos would make another cool engineering moment. Lot of good choices in there

No I don’t I just grabbed it from my parts bin. It was a similar size but had a more coarse thread so it could bite into the die cast hip piece better.

When it comes to the masterpiece line I prefer they fill the gaps with plastic, not imagination.

It's a trade off, because it does yield a couple of things you probably wouldnt get otherwise.
    The pro's outweigh the cons here imo;

    - Perceived gap

    + Arms tuck into backpack
exactly the way he transforms onscreen, which also confirms his flight capability is integral to his Cybertronian anatomy rather than just being a robot brick with a permanently tacked on jetpack.

+ Proportional silhouette of the entire jet just feels more correct than that of the competition, FT-10 who uses robotmode forearms to form front of the fuselage but looks too elongated as a result.

+ In profile view, MP57 backpack objectively sits closer to fuselage (see arrow in pic below). I rather have that than FT10's solution where the distance between backpack and fuselage is slightly bigger, thus it feels visually more 'detached' from the fuselage. Ergo; He is moreso a white robotic brick that is only flight capable due to a tacked on jetpack Visually, MP57's big red legpanels also help to cement the feeling that the backpack wraps around the fuselage rather than loosely floating ontop of it.
    MP57_RV_JetComparison.jpg

Both of them feature a gap inbetween backpack and back of the robot knees; both of equal amount of see-through.

You can wish the backpack sat a little bit closer or that the chest pieces were more symmetrical with the rest of the plain, but they seem more like tradeoffs for Gerwalk mode and and easy transformation.
