Received my Skyfire today. Transformed him this evening. I don't know what issue some people have with the feet; the feet on mine transformed just fine. The most difficult part I found was getting the backpack to compress. Sliding it up completely and getting the boosters up is easy, but then pressing the sides together was difficult. It gave a hard click but then it compressed fine. Scary moment I found. The other more challenging part was getting the part covering the head to untab. Massaging it a bit and wiggling it helped. But yeah, the backpack will be something that many people will not transform properly. I saw various videos on YouTube where the backpack was not slide up completely, or where the boosters were not slided up completely, or the sides of the backpack not slided up completely. Skyfire is a great looking figure. Really glad that I got him.

Thank you for this it's not clear and none of the video reviews I've seen collapse it this far.

Got the TFCon exclusive Bossman earlier today. Just waiting for MP57 to drop into my stash. Also have the DNA Design Menasor kit sitting in there. Will ship all three at once.

I see now where the interference is that’s causing the heel to not sit flush.

The inside back edge of the heel is hitting the ankle pivot lower edge.

You have to hold the front foot, then push the heel a bit down while straightening it to “tuck” the edge of the heel under the ankle pivot.

See the picture below with the arrows. It shows the back heel tipped down so you can see the lip you need to tuck under the lower pivot edge, when straightening it.

Hope this helps anyone with this issue.

Exactly, you need to get a feel for the angle and moment when you can tuck it in.

Btw, that sculpted inner white vents detail on the right, so awesome!

Are around some videos that show clearly how to transform correctly the backpack and the feet? I went lost, sorry

As far as I know the Takara transformation video is correct. It shows the correct order for the backpack. You may have to push pretty hard on the lower section when collapsing the left and right sides at the end. I'm not sure if they are all like that or not.

Received mine via Japan on Monday. Had a few days to mess with him. Now just for the record, for masterpiece scale figures, I already own Phoenix (both versions), Kronos, and the Seige version. I think it's a good figure, as I prefer the "slavish" cartoon aesthetic, but overall I think it's just ok in general. No major issues on mine other than the bottom part of the backpack. Transformation is decent but it has quite a few gaps and doesn't stay together super well in jet mode. Mini-figures are fantastic though, really hope they make more. In the end I can only recommend if you really want a pure G1 cartoon representation and don't already have another version. If either is the case you can probably pass on it.

How do you have his legs that far apart? Is it just barely beyond that first click outward and the friction from the table is keeping it from doing the splits?

I show a 'how-to' do this in my review thread: MP-57 Skyfire review

Basically, the ratchets provide enough play to splay the legs outward. Just work/massage the hipjoints without going into the first outward click.
Then emphasize it with rotating the hipswivel a bit too - then click the ankle pivots inward and plant him firmly on a surface so that gravity holds him in this relaxed A-stance.

So I finally got this guy in!!! Totally love him! The only complaints I have are (just like everyone else) how his leg ratchets are pretty far apart, and how you have to flex the plastic to make clearance for some steps. I do have some minor annoyances as well, covered in some of the photos below:

    9CA4D9F4-EA47-405F-960D-EE6F01B1D346.jpeg 2BBAB3B2-9309-4B05-9D74-337977C29B9B.jpeg A4417157-8384-4D22-8481-604B02123085.jpeg

    13DDD78F-F7C2-4DB4-A207-CB34FA3DCD5E.jpeg
I know this part sticks out a little bit, but for some reason, sometimes it sticks out a lot like it does here. Does anyone know why this happens?

    FF9559CA-1213-4D6F-A726-864F4BCDF4B7.jpeg
Also, once you get his backpack all properly snapped together, these red tabs are UNGODLY hard to get apart again. Does anyone have any advice for this? Because they snap together so satisfyingly flush, I just don’t wanna break them when going back to alt mode.

    DA15CE6E-D9CE-4DAC-931B-9333F0830151.jpeg
And last but not least, the blue canopy part on mine doesn’t like to close all the way in alt mode. No matter how I squeeze and finagle with it, it won’t stay shut.

Other than those things, he’s an amazing figure imo.

Thanks! I’m gonna have to try that!
