Finally finished the transformation (I'd been doing bits here and there between work) and wow, that back-pack really didn't want to snap together closed. Forced it in the end but man, it didn't feel good.

Initial thoughts - bot mode looks amazing BUT the ratchet joints in the legs and feet really are too wide and are making posing him a right pain in the arse. Will take some photos once I have him in a stance I'm happy with.

Stories of ratchets with clicks too far apart remind me a lot of MP-29 Shockwave

What site besides YouTube can be used to show a short video? Google drive isn’t an Option for me. Any suggestions? If I got time, I’ll try and show it.

Quick photo. I'll be honest, there's no clear winner here. On the bright side that means there's no clear loser either!

Also, in a clear win over Phoenix, this guy can stand up straight on the shelf I want him on. I previously had to pose Phoenix with bent knees or on my combiner shelf. Now he can hang with the FT Dinobots instead

Can I make a picture request of Skyfire next to MP Ultra Magnus?

Got mine today and just transformed him.

Out of the box mine was rattling, which was peturbing and made me feel throughout the process that each step was going to reveal that something had broken. However, so far at least, nothing has revealed itself and he no longer rattles.

I found the transformation easy and I am not very good usually.

There is a sprue mark on his outer thigh on mine but it is very small. The finish is very good.

The figure looks brilliant and will make an excellent display piece. But he is not very stable with relatively small feet and a high centre of gravity. He will not be a deskbot for long in this house because I doubt he will survive a fall from my table when I knock it (medication ...). My floor came runner up to Ultra Magnus 2 weeks ago when he took a dive, whilst emerging totally intact himself.

He doesn't feel very posable, although again, I lack that gift others have in making their figures strike attitudes. This aspect may improve as I see more examples of what is possible, so I don't want to seem overly critical - it's likely a tenet of being such a large figure that it seems this way.

It was obscenely expensive and there's just no getting around that. As nice as the figure is, I 'm still on the fence as to whether it is 'worth it'. My best friend would have paid more because Skyfire is her favourite character , others would feel it's overpriced as it is.

I'd probably give him 7.5 maybe 8 out of 10, with cost, fragile feeling and poseability costing him points. 44cc0b48-67f7-483c-8163-415150293cf6.jpg

    Question to those who already have him, regarding the sideways outward hip ratchets - given the reports that one single click is quite far out;

Do the ratchets allow for some degree of play in order to have a subtle A-stance? Or will I have to fake it by using the hip swivels splay outward?

Probably hip swivels, think it's pretty much yes or no on the spacing.

You can get away with moving a few mm away from a click and use the figures own weight to stop the legs wanting to close back together... But it's incredibly small margins.

The problem is all the leg joints suffer from really wide clicks, including the knees and ankles. The ankles here are especially annoying as its really hard to get both feet flat on the ground.

It's frustrating because Skyfire has better articulation than Phoenix, but Phoenix is way easier to pose.

These pictures are taken with ratchets closing legs as much as possible.
    First shows play closing legs.[IMG]

Next shows play making legs as wide as possible, with the ratchets in same closed legs position as above. To make them wider one would have to click the ratchets.

Hmmm ok, weird...because the poses in several pictures and Wotafa's review made posing look so natural. I wonder if some 3P might come up with smaller clicks ratchets....

So, i remember there are two leg articulation, One with real leg and another with the pants, simulating an ab-crunch. Is it true?

Thanks a lot for the pics !

I guess that might suffice for me? Then rotate the hip swivels a bit outward to create the subtle A stance look. Otherwise, I might pose him in one of those shooting-while-kneeling one leg forward action poses.

Outward, the legs need 4 legs for the full splits. When you bend the knees all the way, it’s 4 clicks. When you kick his legs up, it’s 7 clicks. And the leg only does click to the back because the backpack is in the way. Also, the thigh swivel is only about half a 90 degree turn or less. So I hope these pieces of leg articulation give you an idea of what sort of posing you can get out of him.
