Both the Siege and FT still look very good - but the different style approach with MP57 is gigantic.
Note how MP57's lines are so much more slanted/tapered, creating a very distinct "triangular" interpretation of the same source material.
FT does have the most well developed face sculpt though - but on the other hand, his Optimus Prime style feet have always bothered me
    for Skyfire.

Ps. I think you forgot to compress MP57's hips a bit, push them inward,no?

Still undecided between MP-57 and Phoenix. As with MP-52 and the DS Starscream I think this is closer than some people would like you to believe, certainly aspects of both that I like/dislike. Going to very much be a case of deciding when they're both in hand.

    Thanks :thumb

Yep, as I posted earlier, no doubt the MP is the most accurate to the cartoon. If that was important to me, it wouldn't be a contest at all.

But purely from a design point of view, not coloured by nostalgia or the concept that it should be cartoon accurate, I absolutely prefer FT Phoenix. And even when talking about Jetfire/Skyfire, I still prefer the look of the FT. But then, cartoon accuracy has never been important to me, at least not as a guiding principle.

If Takara had all the characters made, I would only stick to their figures. The cohesiveness is beyond amazing.

I’m fortunate to have this collection. On the flip side, I’ll never forget about my other figures. We work hard for our collections.

That's the thing - I STILL think figures like Prowl look great next to Sunstreaker which looks great next to an obvious throwback figure like Skids.

They do look great. They great together as Transformers, G1 Toon, whatever year they were made in. My wife and friends say that they look cohesive and recognize the characters. That’s the whole point. MP Soundwave will be my only Soundwave. He looks Toon enough but with a more evil face.

It’s beyond unbelievable we can see our childhood dreams come true. And Skyfire actually doesn’t look derpy. He really is amazing

Who would have thought we could play our videogames with phones, consoles and desktops processing power almost to an nth degree all at the comfort of our home?

The actuality of having an official anime accurate Skyfire who was NEVER meant to be an actual toy back in 1984:eek:    and quite the wallet buster:lolol  (on the latter I'm also :cry  of joy and pain too;) ). Good, nope! Great times indeed to be a fan!

Special mention to the other MPs released (Hound would have been PERFECT! etc etc)

Jeez, he's a lot smaller than I would've liked (that's not what she said btw!) but he looks stunning. If there's a criticism I have is that I wished they would have used a lighter shade grey for the face a la Ratchet or was it that dark in the toon?

Nice....keep them pics rolling, there's something interesting about seeing a pic with only official figures, do you only collect official, just curious?

After handling him, he’s very durable. He’s not as heavy as Phoenix, but he’s easier to handle. The transformation isn’t as easy as it looks. But that means it’s just more fun to go back and forth as it isn’t cumbersome. His materials feel as sturdy as Trailbreaker. That’s a great thing.

No, not only official even tho it’s my preference. I would like to only collect official if Takara released them more often. I also do mainline. I’ll be slimming down my collection soon.

Oh and huge update: that problematic thing that is hard to release around his head, I had tipped the cockpit a bit softly and it released that hard to release latch very easily and without taking any damage. Play around with it and see how Wotafa holds it. Then, tip bit a bit back and forth from its rotation point softly and it should come undone. No QC issues with the figure AT ALL.

    Too big?

Can't understand that viewpoint at all. Maybe from a space saving aspect? Even then I don't relate having a 46" figure stood on my shelves lol
