The stoic faces (and helmets) are slightly elongated so as to make the yelling faces not look awkward. Personally I don’t mind it.

The difference is now they have tried both styles and have sales figures, customer feedback and market research covering both styles. And they continue to make the toon style. What does that tell you?

 

My damage is gonna be $250.50 (including shipping and tax)  but still cheaper considering.......... and MP 44 cost around $ 400+=. That's the last time I'll abuse my wallet that much

No question that this is the most cartoon accurate version of the character. It's not for me, but I'm always amazed how TT accomplishes this and with the current MP's even more than before -- prior MP's often only looked accurate from one angle, but these new ones appear correct from almost all angles. He also looks like a fun figure to transform and pose.

I do prefer the look of FT Phoenix, but despite several opportunities to get him, even for cheap, I never did. FT figures usually aren't fun which is important to me. Phoenix is also too big for my taste. However, I do prefer the look of Phoenix his finish and like the proportions better.

In many ways I'm happy with the Siege version. I like the size and the less awkward proporion/body shape. However...

I usually do too. However, for Jetfire/Skyfire they look wrong. He should have smooth surfaces with at best some panel lines. And if there's more detailing, then this should be limited to small area's. No idea why Jetfire/Skyfire is the one character I dislike to have details. Maybe because the G1 toy had little.

But wouldn't be surprised if this remains too tempting and I'm going to make a safety purchase. (However, all previous safety purchases were sold quickly after getting them, so there's a valuable lesson.)

I've owned my Phoenix for a little over 2 years now. That said, I can confidently say he's getting replaced  

 

For anyone who prefers the Siege Jetfire figure but feels it is too small, IIRC a third party company is doing an overscaled version (similar height to the new MP), that also includes a stand and a filler piece for the underside in jet mode.

 

Do you guys remember way back in the day , those “ sears wish books “ that would come out a few months before Christmas? You turn that that one page that had all the coolest looking stuff on it , & just drool over what you could possibly have in a matter of months ? That’s what this thread has turned into for me with all these latest pics . Legit drooling with anticipation of what’s to come . This guy is everything I’ve wanted since laying eyes on him . Pics alone , Takara nailed this MP from top to bottom & from Jet mode to robot , plus loaded him with a chock full of accessories to keep even the most grown man child busy for hours !

 

It's bigger but a good one for those screaming for it!!

 

I think Takara's looks the best and I sold fanstoys to buy this but I really do wish Takara had gone taller
