The only MP figure I ever had problems with (and I have them all) was MP-05 Megatron, missing his 2 backpack halves. BBTS sent replacements right away, problem solved.

 

It’s definitely a flying brick ! He was drawn that way on purpose lol . Dude has 0 areo dynamics to him & that’s even with his wings swept back . I love him just the same though . He was one of those childhood dream toys I knew I wasn’t able to get either due to not being able to find him or my parents feeling like he was too expensive or I was unworthy for some reason or another .. Regardless, he’ll be all mine soon enough .

 

My only problems (like many) have been MP09 and MP47. That’s it.


That is an amazing record for a 20 year or so, line.

 

This is only the third masterpiece I'm getting where I had the original toy. It was a beauty. Arguably the best g1 of the lot. Proper hefty bugger. I still have memories of getting my finger caught in the mechanism when transforming it.

 

Still waiting for that dream collab between Bandai and TT for a true MP “Jetfire”.

It would be a nightmare to get, you couldnt buy it domestically, and depending on whose business model they went with, you're looking at 4000-5000 copies versus 11000-13000, it would be Macross preorder madness like never before.

 

Just MP-09 for me (side leg piece broke off during first transformation.), and a Purposely bought Ramjet that had the shoulder mis assembly at a BIG discount from BBTS ($47). Im one of the (so far) lucky MP-47 owners. NOW I most def cannot say this about 3rd party figures...like not AT ALL!

 

To be completely fair, I have not had many problems with my 3P figures either, and whenever I do, they normally take care of the problem, which is a plus (mostly XTB and FT, I but nothing else).

My MP09B came disintegrated and I was still able to sell it for a million dollars, my MP09 (V1) was returned to BBTS and nothing really tabbed in place, and the V2 ended up being sold as I thought a newer version was going to come out rather soon (when 44 line-art was leaked). I'm sure it will happen though.

This is to say that, as always, YMMV. Every mass-produced item has the risk of being defective.

 

I mean every company has issues, but the more you like something, the more inclined you are to look over hiccups. Problem is in official threads, things tend to get blown out of proportion. Its one thing lubing or tightening something, its something totally different when prople have to print parts or let something airdry for 2 weeks" for the paint to dry".

 

I'm wondering if I would have been better off ebaying my broken hound. Rather than just swallowing the postage fees for a refund. Just checked eBay and there's a supposedly good condition mp47 on there (UK) for £114 if anyone wanted to take a gamble.

 

I returned mine to AJP, and honestly, I don't see TT doing a reissue anytime soon. So I bought a new copy from Robotoy base. It broke within a week (the missile neck armature) so I put some gorilla glue and so far so good. Don't get me wrong, it sucks. I knew that going into it, but I just missed having a Hound in my display. The other options look like shit.

 

Key character in at least a few single episodes plus a 3 parter. Not to mention being central in early Marvel.

 

yeah Skyfire is pretty prominent in the cartoon, far moreso than just his initial episode and then being resurrected for one single episode like people seem to remember. He even shows up a little in season 2 if I’m remembering right from my recent watch-through.

Definitely not a once and done like Nightbird, which is why he warranted his own full release rather than a half-assed repaint

 

Now all I need is MP Jazz so I can recreate the scene where Jazz is riding atop Skyfire blaring his speakers at the rocket the Cons stole.
The fact Jazz was able to do this while in vehicle mode a few thousand feet up is impressive
