Yrah that's outstanding. Debating whether to get 2 for both sides.

 

I will be using my FT-10 Phoenix for the Decepticons and MP-57 for the Autobots.

 

Everything in that video looks really good...except this. Was there not some way to avoid the alt mode being so absurdly tall? Especially that gap around the middle - if the backpack settled into that, it would be a lot better!

 

Completely agree! Love that simple transformation yet still deliver a great figure and gimmicks!

 

Somebody in marketing needs a raise, they finally figured out they need more than Figure Kings and stock photo tweets to promote their product.

 

Interesting choices for the alternative faces.

 

As with any Transformer, it should only be as complex as it needs to be.

 

I get why people like this, but the lack of almost any sculpted detail just looks so unfinished. Especially on the gun. That thing is just a few polygons. 

 

This figure is looking phenomenal, I was always going to buy it but dragged my heels as I wasn't sold on the facesculplt but this video has since banished any doubts I had about this figure. Phoenix has been pulled down from the shelf and is off to find a new home.

I'm officially on the TT Skyfire hype train.

 

 

it wouldn’t be g1 if it did g1 simple sometimes boring boxy look at with very lees to no detail what so ever g1 is easy to make take green leg there’s long haul , blue leg prime, silver arm megaton ,

he looks good to bad raiden combiner won’t be same size as metroplex or hasbro unicron that be nice combiner

 

This is a problem with hyper toon/comic accurate figures that are big. The lack of detail sticks out more since the plain spaces are bigger. A good example is MMC's Terserus, a well done figure but the lack of surface detail sticks out more in real life than it was on the page since it is so big. For me, I am more than happy with my Siege Jetfire.

 

Should look fine with the MP-36/44 style stuff. That's where I'm sticking him. Phoenix goes with MP9/10 style.

 

While I do like my Phoenix, I have this ordered as well. Love all the little stuff Hasbro did with this guy from the minifigures to hatches and flipping panels. Didn't think I would need another jet/skyfire in the collection.

 

Damn ... had ruled myself out based on the initial pics.

But naturally (*sigh*) this now looks incredible and my wallet has to suffer ....  

And are those clear light-piped eyes I glimpse at the 0:58-1 min mark...?  

 

On the other hand.....

It's so beautiful. Keep those greebles away please. Alot of us have been waiting for this aesthetic for nearly 40 years.

There's multiple other options if you want the over detailed look but none of pure toon. Now we can all be happy.

 

...and in other news today, a man walks into a whore house and complains that there are too many whores....in the whore house!

 

No faux parts, simple & smart transformation, toon aesthetic, high range of articulation: that's truly masterpiece for me!
It's the first one that makes me feel like Skyfire/Jetfire I've known. Phoenix is nice, but never makes me feel like a representation of the character.

 

Still wish they'd rerelease the Siege figure...

 

that smiling face is the stuff of nightmares.

 

There are other options at different scales, but MP has strewn away from any sense of realism. Normally that wouldn't bother me, but when it comes to Transformers that always just means less visual interest. That's just my opinion though, feel free to disagree.
