I don't care much for Trailbreaker as a character, but I love the toon look.
This MP56 and MP57 release, cement the style direction TT is going for and quite a few 3P producers are
following that lead - showing that TT is indeed setting the trend, despite many ppl heckling them.

You mean their sale where they discount the price below the minimum for free shipping (which encourages a large enough group of people to then buy something else to “yay save on free shipping”)? Yeah that’s not much of a sale at all. It’s classic marketing tactics.

it also falls in line with the idea that these MPs are made in large enough quantities so that they don’t sell out too fast, which is probably why we see so few reissues these days. Arcee is still available to buy in many places, Bumblebee and Optimus were available for a good long while after their release.

One company buying too much stock and wanting to clear warehouse space doesn’t really mean a whole lot as a metric for how well Trailbreaker has sold. He’s an Inferno or Grapple level character, sure he’ll shelf warm a little. He’ll still sell out eventually.

Yep, I got excited for a second and threw him in my cart until I realized shipping offset most of the sale price.

TFS-Express and Omegalock just threw up restocks with a huge discount too. And even with the next day courier that Omegalock uses it's still a big saving

Holy shit, that's a bargain and a half. Dammit I should have been patient. I really enjoyed this figure despite its flaws, the transformation was easily one of the best from TT in a while. But is it doing that badly for such huge discounts to be offered from several retailers?

Wow. Omegalock never do sales. Or if they do they're usually quite poor. It's kapow that does the deep discounts. Cheaper than AE now. Hope they don't discount skyfire as I thought that one was a rip off. :D

He's still available at most of the JP shops at 30% still. He probably wasn't the right pick with the trains as a lot of people have focused on them and they goofed not teasing Hoist somewhere in the process. Ironhide/Ratchet and
Inferno/Grapple were pretty close together, to encourage people to see the difference and pick up both and they didn't do that.

I ended up not buying MP-56. I went and transformed Terraegis a couple of times just to see if I wanted to go with MP-56. And I noticed the one thing that Terraegis does that no other version seems to have considered is the extra step that collapses the hood to give Trailbreaker his tapered torso. It's a really nice detail.

That’s my favorite part as well. I also think the head sculpt is nicely done, and that they gave the figure really nicely balanced proportions. It’s a very heroic version of the character.

My big gripe is the lower legs and floppy feet.

Yes, I have 1 floppy foot. And the lower legs could definitely tab together a little cleaner. I've come to appreciate the slightly different color on the bed cap. It's almost like someone bought an aftermarket cap for their Toyota PU and didn't check to see if the colors match first.

Hi everyone, had a chance to review MP56 Trailbreaker this week! Next week I'll be taking a look at a lifesize battle damage Captain America helmet from Avengers: Endgame.

    A few screengrabs:

How can you make him hold the pistol? Love the figure, hate the thumbs

I had to completely open the hand and tilt the wrist back, like he's giving a high five. Then I had the slide the pistol handle tab into the hand slot from the bottom. After that, just wrap the fingers around.

I'm glad they reconfigured the thumb with Skyfire so that it looks more natural. Maybe some third party hands could pop up sometime in the future.

I hope theres a resurgence of 3p upgrade hands, but I got the pistol to fit an hour ago n tab into his palm. Would be perfect if his thumbs were articulated

I'm super tempted to grab him at TFS Express but I've never used them. Can any of you confirm that they're legit? I'd do Kapow or Omegalock but they don't ship to the states.

TFS-Express are legit. They supply Omegalock, too.

They tend to ship using decent (so more expensive) shipping options, but I've found their lower cost options perfectly adequate and reliable.

Wonder if blue Trailbreaker is going to be a mall exclusive and only TB an Hoist get general releases.
