Those are for the back part of the driver and passenger side doors, if you so wish to use them.

This is the first figure in the “Mp3.0” era that I feel TT have dropped the ball on the ‘bot mode proportions. He is too lanky and the head a bit too ball imo, almost giving me MP Tracks vibe (also similar in the sense that you have to fiddle with the car shell to make the backpack).

I thought he’d look better in hand, but unfortunately no. Stand him next to Starscream 3.0 you’d see how TT nailed screamer’s cartoon proportions perfectly.

I also don’t particularly enjoy the transformation. He is more or less a shell former on the rear half of the car but TT did not have anything that wows me engineering wise, and I hate the part where you have to fold the the little transparent door pieces multiple times in a very tight area.

I quite enjoy the proportions. It really lends to articulation as well. I really really believe that people have more of an issue with the original cartoon design as the MP is spot on to the toon, if not a little too fat with the hood. I think the third party ones solely focus on those damn model sheets rather than seeing the character in action and how they actually look more often than not.

Tamiya extra thin cement will get those nice and secured.

Specifically that glue because most others dont like (destroy, crack, fog) clear plastic

Mine arrived with Inferno on Tuesday as expected. I haven't transformed either yet, but vehicle modes are great. Trailbreaker is curiously small in vehicle mode although judging by pictures he really expands. Reminds me of MP Ironhide in that regard.

Has a nice set of accessories. Comparing the instructions is interesting. Trailbreaker has double the steps of Inferno!

I used Google translate to read most of the blerb.

Happy, so far, although a bit daunted by the amount of transformation steps. Think I'll take my time over the weekend.

I imagine Hoist would be a slightly easier design process since the back of the truck doesn't need to fit any real world reference.

I'm not sure why everyone keeps talking about modding the arms in order to gain the articulation that was shown in promo shots ...

It's still there out of the box.

Although you do need to give a good grab and go to get it to raise the arm, its still very much doable with any cutting.

You merely need to do it once and it just snaps in and out of the position, and then it's perfectly fine afterwards.

People are so quick to take a knife to their new figures. Lol

Seeing these two side-by-side makes me hope that people are prepared for a Takara Hoist to either be similarly tall and lanky as TB or to be shorter and stockier. If people are expecting Hoist to be both as tall as TB and fat like the animation model and scale chart, there is going to be all kinds of rage going on here. My hope (and the only realistic expectation) is for Hoist to be notably shorter.

Yes it can be done but the plastic gets stressed and turns white. Easier to just cut it and it’s not hard to do at all.

    I don't see a problem.

"Serious talking", Trailbreaker chest collapse a bit and it's not totally vertical. A bit of transformation on the leg part and the TB height could be achieved.
Of course you will not ever have this dimension:
