Imagine Takara having already purchased piles of real vehicle data for their other toylines, and not re-use them.

 

I prefer the alt and bot modes match the goofy toon look. When they start making some things look toon, some things look real, some things look toy, they lose me. Pick one and stick with it...

 

Mines getting here on the 30th. I don't like getting them so early. I'm a complete doofus at transforming these things and need a wotafa video.

So admittedly I was never a huge Trailbreaker guy but I can’t wait for him. That transformation looks fun and thankfully no early reports of QC issues. (Now reissue Hound that doesn’t break TT!)

 

After watching that video , my god this dude is jam packed with accessories for both modes ?! Love this !

 

What shoulder issue?

 

I've lost track of how many third party Masterpiece Trailbreakers (and Hoists) have been released in the years leading up to this, imagine there'll be plenty of comparisons when it finally releases.

 

Glad to see he has a proper transformation.
I'm not a fan of the vehicle mode collapsing into nothing but panels that hide in the legs -or in the case of Bumble-see-me-only-from-the-front, behind the feet.

 

This is where I’m at. I love the real world licensed vehicle modes and if they can make a cartoon accurate bot mode out of it, then I’m in, 100%. If it has a fluid and intuitive transformation, then it’s gold to me.

I also like the more Skids/ toy-ish style bots though, as long as that car mode is realistic and preferably licensed for any car or truck (most minibots could get a pass on that last part).

 

This release looks very promising, just paid mine on amiami. Much more posable than the FT's

 

Got mine in early. It's party time.  
I only paid Ringgit Malaysia RM580 or roughly USD130 for this MP Trailbraker. Hasbro Asia import. Thankfully did not overpay for him.

 

I get that. Crosscut turned out to be one of my favourite MPs, thought he was really well done.

Yeah, that surprised me too.

I don't really remember Trailbreaker from the cartoon that much. I know he was there and I know he used his forcefield several times, but to me that was it. When I looked him up on TFwiki, I was surprised in how many episode he actually was.

Doesn't change it really, though, because he really was there in the background using his forcefield. Unlike the second year characters many of whom got a stand out episode that highlighted who they were, the first year were just there, getting a short moment in the episode and that was it.

Trailbreaker I know mostly because of his toy.

Although I have this on pre-order, I also have FT Outrider and I know Outrider is going to be my Trailbreaker. But only because the MMC version wasn't that great -- if it had been, that would've been the Trailbreaker for me: smaller and more toy influences (even a toy head).

My Trailbreaker nostalgia is with the toy, not the cartoon. So all these cartoon elements and cartoon deco don't do much for me. As such, FT Outrider out edges the MP for me every so slightly: I prefer the colours, the metallic sheen to the colours, and through a mis transformation it can have the wheels on his lower legs like the G1 toy (maybe the MP can as well?).

But if I wanted a cartoon Trailbreaker, the MP would be it, absolutely.

The MP also can achieve far more poses, but again not that important to me.
