I believe they’re for that one scene where part of his side windows were blacked out, but if true it’s really asinine to pull the look off via a sticker that’s not really removable.

Still don’t like how narrow his lower half is compared to the torso, but he’s easily got the second best chest IMO. Oddly FT takes last there…

Actually his windows are supposed to be black in the cartoon as it follows the toy color scheme. The windows *appears* to be black because they were transformation joint in the toy.

That could work too! This is what I would like, take the G1 figures and modernize them. Like what @Sky Warp 55 was doing a few years ago.

I'm still mixed on the change in MP design priorities.

On one hand, I far prefer the more detailed hybrid aesthetic of the Hasui era.

But I fully recognize how important the updated style was to the overall health of the line. And the engineering fanboy in me, the reason why I'm a TF fan over any other of my childhood playthings, is absolutely enamored of the insane trickery they often need to pull (and succeed at) in order to replicate the look of the animation models that were never intended to be translated into three dimensions. And then there's the fact that they manage that, while simultaneously making the figures more articulated than even most dedicated action figure lines.

So ultimately, I'm far more impressed by what they manage to achieve with each figure, which is a net gain even though I lose out on my favoured aesthetic.

That's loads of fun! I love that, I would definitely be in for hyper articulated redoes of the G1 figures.

Absolutely, mad props to the designers and engineers behind these toys.

Which thing? You mean the thing you think is the thing or the thing we think is the thing or the thing you think we think is the thing but actually it's the thing you think is the thing that's not even a thing.

They worked extra hard to hide all the really detailed vehicle parts inside the robot so they can flip out totally flat, blank, undetailed arms and legs. Just boggles the mind why someone would want a G1 hommage toy to look G1 toy / real vehicle accurate in vehicle mode, but G1 cartoon accurate in robot mode. Why not just make it G1 toon accurate in BOTH modes???

That is quite gappy. I'm getting it, but I still like the Ocular Max version better. The way the hood narrowed was so choice.

I got shipping fees earlier from AE. They gave me no options, just DHL, but I guess that's down to the covid situation. It especially expensive as I ordered MP Inferno too, but that's to be expected.

Hopefully it will be shipped soon for that price. I'm looking forward to them!

    It's pretty simple, bro...

Alt mode - the real vehicle is king. Its what the toy was trying to look like. The cartoon drawn vehicles mostly look a bit poo to be honest.

Bot mode is different - there's no real world reference. The primitive G1 toys looked pretty goofy in many cases. But the cartoon characters, brought to life on the screen with that superb voice acting - toon is king for bot mode.

So, perfect Masterpiece toy - realistic alt mode, toon accurate bot mode. Simple. A few dozen sellout releases in that exact style suggests it isn't all that mind boggling for most of us.

Still missing his Ultimate Doom, Changing Gears and Fire on the Mountain scenes too! Unless this was just force field scenes of course.
