What happened to CJ? Not that I'm complaining about TB, also this used to be our family transport (gray aluminum color) until 2004, same model until it gave up (the one with the word Toyota embossed on the back ramp door).

Quite happy with Terraegis, not seeing any reason to swap him based on this tiny pic.

Need the car dudes to chime in here, because I'm wondering the same thing. I haven't been able to find any images of a Hilux with the mirrors that far forward. Really curious about what it's based on.

Edit again: looks like if you click into both the 3rd and 4th gen on the Hilux history website (both 1983), pictures show that they both offered the mirrors further up. The 4th gen description says that there was a different body type for 4WD, maybe that's it?

I’m excited to see the upcoming full reveal and very excited to add another larger Autobot to my collection. He’ll look great standing alongside Ironhide and Ratchet.

These look like they were colored digitally in the modern era. I'm just wondering how accurate they are?

Trailbreaker's value of gray certainly fluctuated on the show.

Real World: Skywarp would be lighter due to a flat black most likely used on aircraft, whereas Toyota would have used a deep gloss black on the truck.

I'm kinda Surprised Toyota let them go with those color choices.

 

They are right where they should be!   If you google, in English, a 'Toyota Hilux N30', or similar you are most likely going to get pictures of US market models. In Japan, however, they hung onto wing mirrors actually mounted on the wings (fenders) for a while after many other markets mandated their placement in the modern position by the A-pillar.



Now we can debate whether Trailbreaker should be a Japanese model or not since Teletran one did his scanning in the US presumably, but that's what TT are going with!

And as for the Teletran/Skyspy scan, I think it's fine for Trailbreaker to be Japanese...as Prowl's altmode was also very Japanese. Seriously, were there any police Fairlady Z's in the US, like ever?
