Oh…MP Crosscut caught me by surprise. Funny thing is, I saw the thread a few times this morning but it just didn’t register in my brain. For some reason I thought it was a thread for Reboost.
Oh man I'm so behind on this line and they keep throwing things I want into it. Very much looking forwrad to this and Reboost and hopefully we get Burnout as well soon enough. Just like we all knew black Ironhide and Deepcover would happen
Nothing's truly out of the realm of possibility but I do find post Roadrage molds to be less likely to be redone than any Hasui era mold and if they did get redone I think it wouldn't be for a good long while. I'll also be honest but while Ironhide has flaws and I get why for some he's not liked I don't feel he really NEEDS a redo. It'd be nice to get better articulation and remove the hip flaps completely as well as MAYBE hide the windows that ended up on the arms, but honestly seeing the way Bumblebee 2.0 came out makes me apprehensive that he'd just be visibly messy in certain spots and personally I feel the MP nailed the look solidly anyway. Then again Starscream came out surprisingly clean so who knows what they could pull off.
5 In Diaclone. Honda City: Crosscut (silver) Reboost (red) Honda City Turbo: Skids (blue) Burnout (black) Another Red One (the Skids tooling and yellow stripe in car mode but plastic colors/layout very similar to Reboost, as far as I can tell) There's also Skids and Screech who were meant as ROTF homages. That Skids is the usual G1 Skids mold in green, and Screech is basically Crosscut in orange and grey. In total, 7 decos with precedent. I really don't see The Other Red One happening, but it'd be a pretty easy (if expensive) custom if someone wanted to. ROTF Twins homages are probably pretty unlikely, but you never know. Burnout would be nice.Black is always a nice deco and that'd make it 2 uses of each of the Skids and Reboot parts.
Crosscut, while not surprising, looks good and will be added to the collection! I, for one, would pick up a Burn Out repaint, but the lack of Deep Cover and a black Ironhide repaint keep me from being convinced it’ll ever happen. I keep hoping they’ll make Deep Cover the last use of the MP-12 Lambor mold, kinda like they did with MP-1L “Last Production” as the last official use of MP-1, but we’ll see if that ever happens.
I highly doubt that. He's MP-53+ because Skids is the first release. Regardless if Crosscut ends up just strictly a Reboost redeco.
There’s precedent with Clampdown being MP-14C but TT seems to be determined to have their numbering rules change constantly so it’s pretty hopeless trying to figure it out.
Are they the same face? Or is it Sideswipes.face with Alerts head? I could have sworn Xlampdoqn was not a straight repaint.
