Apparently they’re getting stock on 21st October. That’s a very tricky time for me as I should be moving house the first week of November and that’s exactly when Tigatron would end up being delivered so I don’t know which address to have him sent to. Should probably go with the new address and inform the current occupants that if anything shows up to just leave it in a cupboard for me- or I’ll see if Show Z will delay shipping for a bit.
Ack... why do the factories continue to send out subpar product! Mine has excellent paint but the the joint tolerances are borderline. TT really need to get a grip on QC.... sadly I'm not sure they ever will, it's shocking for years now.
I'm proud to present one of the best purchases I have made recently. Masterpiece Tigatron is probably one of the most successful beast modes from the MP Beast Wars line. Is just a beautiful looking tiger from basically any angle, quite different from Cheetor. Speaking of which, while it was initially thought that Tigatron would simply be an oversized version of MP Cheetor, they couldn't be more different due that the transformations are incredibly different. Tigatron's transformation is... involved to say the least, at times it feels overly complicated and there are some steps that feel kinda dangerous which is something sadly common in this line. But my God, is the transformation worth it. This is a gorgeous looking bot as well with many details that are so prominent in MP BW. The accessories are also pretty cool, particularly a fan of the puzzle head Megatron, but I'm definitely not putting the missiles on Tigatron's arm because I just know they're gonna break. The usual issues are also present sadly like the paint chipping which should be fixed by now. Family of felines. They look so good together. And here's my MP BW collection so far. Really happy with most of them and I really hope that the next MP is Airazor (but I'm not putting her alongside Tigatron because their relationship was always ugh).
So, what do you guys think? Will Kingdom push Takara to put out more MPs due to the increased popularity and hype?
They were already going that way. I mean, if they made the effort of producing a MP for Tigatron (One of the least important characters in the show), then there will most certainly be more MP BW figures like Waspinator, Rattrap, Rhinox and Inferno.
Probably not. The MP line is paced properly for a higher-end line of figures that take more time in design and production than the mainline figures do. It's planned differently due to those factors and likely due to them being higher priced collector-targeted toys (too many releases would be pushing collector budgets and may end up decreasing sales). Kingdom is a consumer-level "main line" that is better suited for collectors who want quantity over quality. MP collecting is just a different type of collecting with a different set of expectations than mainline, and people need to know that going into it. Rather than there being waves and an overall plan to cover a specific "full set" of characters, the MP line has always been and will continue to be an experience of seeing which characters are done next and knowing that there will only be a few releases each year. Unless you meant will the Beast Wars popularity increase from Kingdom's influence result in TakaraTomy increasing production run for BW MPs in order to meet demand. That's probably more likely than them trying to push out a greater number of BW MPs in a year.
September 25th - Tigatron posted October 8th - Into hospital October 10th - Appendix removed October 12th - Released from hospital October 16th - Back into hospital (digestive system having shut down) October 19th - Released from hospital and Tigatron arrives Good timing?!
I actually think Kingdom is a result of the MP line, myself. I think the MPs have proven themselves to TT, or else they would've never done Tigatron of all characters. While it's possible it will feed back into the MP and drive up interest, it seems the MPs are definitive proof that yes, there is enough of a market for Beast Wars. If these super expensive, elaborate collectors pieces can sustain themselves six releases in, there's interest enough to keep going and bring beasts back to retail store shelves.
What a fantastic figure! Such heft in both modes! I've currently got him in beast-mode on the MP Maximal shelf because, well, it's just seems right.
I don't think I'll be pre-ordering any more BWMPs. The FOMO is strong, but this is a pretty clear trend.
