Sorry man. I don't know how you were applying it but I've been watering the polish down a little before using a paint brush to apply it sparingly. I let it dry for 4+ hours and then if the parts still too loose reapply. After a couple of applications (directly to the pin/gaps around the pin) the beast eyes on mine still move freely but don't move of their own accord. No use to you now I know, but maybe for future reference. It really does suck that TT drop the ball so much on QC/finishing touches like this. For what they are asking these things should be be much more consistent in that department.
Well...transformation was...a means to an end, as seems to be the case more and more these days. Nothing overly satisfying in it for me (apart from the eye colour swap between modes), and plenty of fiddly sections/panels here and there, which I so LOVE on my MPs... A necessary sacrifice to get things to where they need to be and give us two articulated and expressive modes. On the plus side, no obvious QC issues with my copy (all alternate faces appear free of defects as well), and he is absolutely beautiful to behold. I’ve decided to order a second one since I adore the character, and I actually like both modes - my first BW MP double-dip! I was on the fence about getting into BW MPs back in the early days, but man am I glad I’ve seen it through to this point. They are fast becoming some of my most anticipated releases, and I’m over the moon to have big cat so soon in the line.
My Tiger eyes seem to stay where they are for now it just takes a few goes to line them up properly. I've figured out if I line the outside of both pupils up with the closest black specks on his cheeks he won't look cross eyed. Can I suggest just cutting a small piece of sponge and placing it in there to apply some pressure to the eyes and stop them moving around so freely.
It’s the eye of the tiger held in place by a sponge So that big striped white cat won’t go cross-eyed And it just doesn’t matter if it’s the left or the right At least one of them is a loose eye of the tiger Dun. Dun dun dun. Dun dun dun. Dun dun duuunnnn…
That's the spirit. Definitely Terrorsaur for me too, I'm sure that he'd turn out perfect in my eyes. BW MP's are the finest Transformers I've ever seen. The only mode that requires a little imagination to work for me is Black Arachnias beast mode and that's so understandable because her robot mode is built like a ballerina being only 15cm tall and weighs nothing.
You're a bummmb! Kidding, that's brilliant and I've gotta be honest that songs been in my head any time I flick through these recent pages
Haha! I was cracking myself up thinking of those lyrics. Perfect opportunity, had to make it happen. The sponge idea is great though. I might try that or some foam.
Yeah, I've ruined a few figures over the years from excessive and sloppy Future application. The worst was 3rd party Trailbreaker, I was so sloppy with the Future on a part of its leg, that literally fused together this little sliding part that was necessary for the leg transformation. It completely snapped off because I just couldn't get it to slide anymore. Of course I had it replaced because "it was broken when I received it."
That's pretty fucking trashy man. :/ *just to clarify: I'm not calling you trashy. Just the action. We all do things that others would disapprove of.
So I went back to beast mode for the first time today and I have to say... it wasn't the total ball ache I thought it might be, at no point did he end up in the bin which is one up on Blackarachnia. I used the instructions for the most part but also consulted @Primal Sabbath's youtube video(thanks!) when it came to lining up the beast belly as the instructions do not cover that whatsoever, a symptom of the instructions only going the one way. The only parts I found irritating was lining up all the belly panels/getting the arms to sit right underneath and making that sit snug with/tab into the upper body. I do wish the panels on the tops of his back legs tabbed in rather than just sit there but over all... yeah it's a pretty satisfying transformation, on a par with Megatron in terms of a slightly annoying jigzaw puzzle of tabs and panels but ultimately a pretty sold alt-mode... provided you're super careful posing it!
Shortly after transforming Tigatron I realized this: I checked my backpack and my friends car and nada
Wotafa is very gentle with his figures, and he shows the best ways of untabbing panels in ways that prevent stress. The most memorable one was his review of MPM-43 Megatron, in which he was untabbing the dinosaur panels and the head from them. Emgo is also good if not a bit more clumsier compared to Wotafa but I still like him.
