I'm pretty sure he has waist articulation, of that's what you mean. This image makes it seem like he has a waist swivel:

I'm just speculating, but for a few reasons I don't think he has one. The piece it's attached to looks like it folds up, instead of coming off.

No, I meant exactly what I said, though perhaps described it poorly. He has an articulated waist, but I'm not sure if a rotation at the waist is necessary for transformation, as it is in Cheetor's case (his, admittedly is not a rotation at the waist joint but strictly in the hips but you get my point, I hope).

Thing is, Dinobot is not worth $240. It's an amazing figure, but it's not worth that price, it should only be $130ish.

Ah, okay I get you. Yeah, I'm not sure if a waist change will be needed. From what I can tell, it might just be a more straightforward make cat stand on it's hind legs, bring out arms of chest, bring tiger head to chest (straight down, no rotation).

Obviously there is a LOT more to it, lots of panels, but the basic scheme may not need to turn around the waist around.

It's particularly hard to say because the upper robot thigh is in the tiger waist, and it looks like the shin actually pops out of the leg, almost like generations rattrap, if you know what I mean. So you can't really judge by the way the leg bends in beast mode, since the shin is separating from the thigh and rotating on it's own anyway.

Just out of curiosity, but where are you drawing that number from? Because nothing at that size or complexity (not to mention the premium paint job) has been anywhere near $130 in a looooong time. I'm not saying you can't think Dinobot is overpriced. Value is subjective, everybody is going to have their own thoughts on that, and everybody is right as it related to themselves. But you can't really say 'that should have only been X dollars' without some kind of evidence to support your claim. Do we all wish it was only $130? Sure. But that doesn't make it possible.

For comparison, I also collect several lines of premium Japanese figures. And with high end posability and paint, those can often run $50-75 at a much smaller size and with no need to transform. Some of that price is accesories, which is also true of the BWMP's.

It feels like a lot of wishful thinking, is what I'm getting at. But that's where I'll leave the price discussion. Stuff has gotten expensive. Extremely so in some cases. That's not a good thing or a bad thing, necessarily, just a true thing. To each, their own. I buy what I can afford, and what I think is worth it. I didn't have a problem with Dinobot at $240. He's the single best transformer I own, in my opinion. I didn't think Megatron was worth it at his price point, despite the brilliance of the figure itself. (I received one as a gift anyhow, because people are awesome.) Somewhere in between the two was my threshold of relative value, everyone else is free to disagree. End of the day, vote with your wallet. There is no such thing as "fair" pricing. Businesses aren't in it for fair, they are in it for profit. If you're not happy with pricing, don't pay it.

This makes me sad Shadow Panther was a Cheetor repaint and not this mold. Who is Tigatron going to be repainted as? Nightprowler?

A couple good angles of the tiger will clear up a lot, I agree. Here's to hoping we don't have to wait too long before we see more of this beauty.

The stand and the forced perspective still leaves me unsure if they actually scaled up the mold as part of the retool.

Might try and get this if EBGames gets a preorder for it. Then I can just pay on it little by little.

The very first post of this thread has a photo with a size comparison between Cheetor, Tigatron and Dinobot all standing on level ground that will put your mind at ease.

The tiger head is definitely a bit oversized in bot mode

    Well, at $220 I’m out.

With everything else that there is to collect in this hobby at the moment, I just can’t justify that for a second-tier character who’s an upscaled remold and might have QC issues.
