Interestingly, his crotch plate appears to actually be not one, but THREE pieces. The central crest appears to be static on the waist, but the sides are connected to hinges. They appear to rotate away and over the sides, though I suppose you could use the same hinge to stand them up perpendicular to the waist if you had to. Which definitely makes his transformation different from Cheetor's. This is going to be an interesting figure to get inside and see how it works. It LOOKS a lot like Cheetor, but it has way more going on under the hood. I really wish they had a beast mode version on display. I have burning questions that only the tiger can answer.
Maybe I missed it. But it looks like the real tiger head actually becomes his chest in robot mode, unlike Cheetor.
These pics again make me wonder why no 3rd Party or Ko company has tried to come out with an oversized Chug Rhinox, it'd sell like hotcakes for people's Beast collections till Takara got around to an MP.
Thanks for this observation. While it makes sense, it was a little disappointing that it look like an upscaled remold. Instead it appears to do what you suggested - and I hoped - and that is pretty cool.
Yeah, Tigatron, despite looking similar to cheetor, seems to have nothing in common transformation wise. It almost seems like they went out of their way to differentiate every aspect of the transformation

For Beast Wars, yes. Other lines can have perfect beastformers, they just need to put some effort into it.
Other than Smokey+ and Lio Convoy, this guy is the only other MP I have for this year. My pocketbook may be happy for the reprieve, but I'm really hoping for some other new late year releases.
There is a LOT going on in this translation. The thighs have panel lines, the behind head panels fold out, as pointed out already, the crotch piece is in the pieces. You can see panel lines on the head, clearly to change the eyes. The side view shows a lot of pieces fold over on the waist, lots happening on the back. Bunch of extra panels all over. Extra panel on the arm, back of shin, beast leg kibble, panels between the beast leg kibble and the robot head on the back, as seen from the top view. A lot going on. And I think I stand by the tail being integrated into robot. No tail gun.
He's nearly Dinobot size and appears to be quite a bit more complex than Cheetor. Not sure why you think he should come it an the lower price point, and not closer to Dinobot, who appears the better analogy at this time. I mean, don't get me wrong. It would be lovely to get our MP's cheaper. But just from what we've seen so far, I'm expecting a lot closer to Dinobot than I would have guessed.

Every Beast Wars MP is like a grail figure for me but Tigatron especially. I’m hoping there’s no light in his head just because I never use that feature and it le TT justify even higher price hikes. Well, glad I stayed up but time for bed now.
I really think you're right about the robot arms. It looks like the tiger forelegs hinge towards the tiger back, as opposed to Cheetor where they hinged towards the cheetah's chest (tiger up, cheetah down). That almost certainly means the bot arms are actually the tiger chest. Compared to Cheetor, he's basically upside down. And the back of the tiger has some things going on that look interesting as well. There are panels that collapse in at the back of the robot torso that look to fill in the tiger back (you can see them on the one pic of the tiger we have seen so far as well), and I'm not entirely sure where the crotch plate pieces are going to end up. They look like the should pivot both around their own hinge, and then that whole piece around a second hinge further back on the waist. But does that put them under the tiger or on it's back? Or rather, does the waist swivel for bot mode? It does on Cheetor, but that clearly doesn't mean a thing now.
