Comes the much anticipated MP blackarachnia!

    We’ve come a long way

    Obligatory silverbolt comparisons

I’ll take some more pictures hopefully soon, first impressions, swinging down the ankles is probably gonna be the ermagawd imma break it moment for most people if it’s anywhere near as tight as mine was, so be careful, she by far feels to be the most delicate MP I’ve ever handled, owing of course to her size and proportions, but I am very satisfied so far

Now that I’ve gotten to transform her a few times, I have a few more thoughts, first of which is that leaving the faceplate off for transformation is good idea, it’s cramped in that abdomen, the more clearance the better, already scuffed some paint off her faceplate (6 transformations iirc)

also the web accessory is obviously translucent plastic and it pegs together from 4 parts very securely, witch makes taking it apart rather nerve racking, already have stress marks, so I wouldn’t mess with taking it apart again unless you have too

Woohoo! Congrats on getting the first pics up!
I have to say that BA looks fantastic...but I can’t help but appreciate the original mold too. Is that the Telemocha release? The old BW molds are starting to look more endearing and nostalgic by the day.

in any case, the MP spider mode looks better than I found it to look previously. That “robot head on the spider body” mode will be in my nightmares.

Looks amazing, hoping mine ships soon!

But bloody hell, those spider-face pictures have me terrified beyond the capacity for rational thought. Mummy!

But seriously, it’s impressive that they managed to translate two of the most cheat-sy transformations into toy form, her and Dinobot. The idea of MP Terrorsaur doesn’t seam so impossible now.

Really? There’s a lot more color on there than I realized. I picked up Tarantulas back in the day. My only copy of 1996 BLackarachnia MOSC.

This figure is excellent, a few things:

-They just tossed this figure into the bubble. Nothing on mine was pegged or arranged properly, and because most of the joints had that brand-new-toy stiffness, it wasn't until going back to spider mode that everything aligned "correctly." It was all off my millimeters, but that means the world with MPs, especially smaller ones:

-Robot mode is gorgeous, almost flawless honestly, but the spider-mode isn't much better in hand. It is possible to rotate the black sockets for the spider legs and tuck the robot arms in such a way that the abdomen looks okay from up top, but the thorax is what it is. They really should've, somehow, "flipped" the whole thing so the smoother, more cohesive side of the spider butt faced forwards, rather than back. At the very least it would've resulted in a spider that looked more than decent from the front, but as it is there's no angle where the spider looks "good." "Acceptable," "understandable," but flawed given the design. Really doesn't diminish the figure IMO but it's a fair criticism, which leads me to my next point...

-Honestly, given how compromised the spider already is, I wouldn't have minded going the extra mile and just giving her that actually perfect robot mode by thinning the back panels ever so slightly for that perfect hourglass shape. This about as nit-picky as you can get with the robot mode, but it is technically something that could've been improved at the spider mode's expense. As it is, she's still amazing, and if you didn't know how thin the actual show model was you'd never think there was anything off looking at this toy. It's amazing how accurate she is.

-The gun is adorable, but I advise against following the instructions and fully inserting the missile. Not only does it make the gun look hilariously short, I don't believe it's show-accurate and it's a really tight fit the deeper you go. (I got the same problem, TBH) So I advise just inserting the grey tip.

-The paint is stunning. I can't believe how perfect the figure is in-hand. The various sculpted textures and shades of gold just feel so intricate yet cohesive. These BW MPs just keep getting better as far as the finish goes.

-The articulation is excellent. Hip rocking, fully jointed claws, even the beast mode has a fully articulated head and little striped things. Only oddity is the back of the calves. They're spring-loaded, but the springs are so strong even though the knees are tight on mine there's no way they can keep them depressed. And it doesn't offer that much more range. A useless addition I'd rather see go towards, say, the alternate missile for her gun use din the show. (based on the old toy's detachable spider legs)

Blackarachnia isn't as utterly perfect as Megs, but she had arguably more of an uphill battle. Still, she's about as perfect as physically possible, and looks phenomenal next to her fellow beast MPs. It's also nice to finally have another fucking stand considering TT made such a big deal out of it with Dinobot. :lol  Plus she actually needs it thanks to the awesome addition of the web accessory.
