After a shaky start I'm starting to really like him....wonky Autobot symbol aside:
Are you sure that mark can’t be wiped or rubbed off? The plastic under the yellow paint must be yellow as well so that black mark must be dirt or black paint on top of the yellow paint. I had a few small black marks on mine in a different spot and I was able to remove them.
Another little thing I love. Although it fills the space and means you can't put the figure inside, in alt mode you can leave the knee pads folded in such a way that they stick up to make seats lol. Though the arms and shoulders already also look like seats too.
Also I love how the forearm pads stay in place and never seem to get loose. The way it works almost feels like a soft ratchet, but it's just friction. And they even left the point of friction unpainted.
Tabbing alt mode together definitely gets a little easier after multiple transformations, too.
I initially rubbed, but it's dented in. Not sure how much harder I should wipe.
Sorry, I didn’t know it was dented. I’m not sure what else to suggest. I’ve heard of people using paint thinner or alcohol but that’s very risky on a painted part. Hopefully someone else has a better idea.
I posted this in the main Bumblebee thread, but in case anyone didn't see it and might find it helpful...
Ok, I updated that photo set with a properly transformed backpack shot. All locked together now and the shape is much tighter and more unified looking, especially in hand.
Hope it's ok, but I'll detail real quick what I did in case anyone was having the same problem I was, especially as I suspected and hoped I was doing something wrong as it just seemed like a loose mess but I couldn't figure it out for a few days until I got some help from my friends on the board here (thanks again, guys!). The instructions weren't clear to me here (maybe it was in the Japanese text). Hopefully someone else will find this helpful!
Turns out I wasn't pulling out the extending bar or, more importantly, bending the joint completely so that the bar is nearly parallel with the windscreen. The last 20 or so degrees of that joint are pretty tight, I didn't want to risk cracking, so I thought it just wasn't designed to collapse any further. Glad I was wrong! If yours is tight there like mine, just gently push through.
Wrong - The bar is not extended and the joint is not completely bent
Correct - The bar is extended and the joint is fully bent so that the bar is nearly parallel with the windshield
Everything collapses tighter and locks together better than I initially had it.
Yes it's like night and day isn't it? And another example of how intricately engineered this guy is! I swear, in its own tiny way, those steps (as well as properly transforming the rear of the feet) are almost mini masterpiece moments!
Agreed! Great way of putting it!
I'm back home after a 9-day housesit, and am finally having a chance to enjoy fussing with Bumblebee in his natural habitat.
Inspiration taking from @chchchch's rad display (the shot with Bumblebee and Hot Rod riding shotgun atop Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus).
I got a new left foot to swap out for the damaged window panel. (I ended up pursuing an Amazon exchange after all, the replacement came in only a few days!) I'm pretty thrilled with Bumblebee. I think he's worth the extra steps, as he looks miles more agile and playful than his older brother.
I'm also stoked that this jet pack still fits (albeit a bit loosely). Any good super spy needs a rocket pack now and then!
Awesome man, love it!! I'm honored I'm so glad you got a replacement and so quickly! MP-21's looking good there as a toy-style counterpart to 45!
Today Bumblebee is leading the Kaiju charge against fearsome earth invader The Devastator:
As some of you may recall, I like to find places in my MPs where extra parts can be stored. Here’s a few on MP-45 that are such perfect fits, it makes me wonder if they weren’t intentional.
Extra faces can be stored in his legs:
The license plate can be stored in his back, underneath the hood panel:
Placing it in this way is a bit more secure. Either way, just close the hood panel and the plate stays in that spot.
who's got a pic of this exclusive pin
thanks. would you mind marking the bar on the pictures? I can't seem to figure it out.
Now that I have it in hand, I really like it.
Except the left window/foot heel broke on mine. Even still, I really like the figure.
Broken parts are most unfortunate.
Yes! I know it's stupid, but I just wanted to see one!
As a G-Fan, the dragon should be with devastator, and they'd never be able to actually organize a charge.
