Man, brilliantly stated. This is exactly how I feel though I could not have described it so eloquently.

 

The "essence of the character" is what toon accuracy is actually about. It should evoke some kind of nostalgic reaction in us, like @Dean ML always mentions hearing the voice of the voice actor. You can't rewind time but for a little bit they let us what is be a kid again. Can someone make one probably cleaner, most likely, but Ive seen enough photos from @Phamduc and @Sam to know this is Bee.

 

Just got an AJ notice saying that Bumblebee won’t be in until Dec 01-04. Yikes! What a delay.

 

I wonder what is causing all the delay.

 

Technically not that delayed. End of October to November means from the factories to the retailers. If it's made in Vietnam, you have to concede the stocks will be delivered to the docks (you have to factor in the weather). For all we know, the shipping to the docks have started already.

Even if made in China, more or less they have to ship them to the docks first before heading for Japan or HK (unless which is most unlikely Takara ships via air) then the world.

 

I get all that, but we’ve already been moved from a September release date to November. The product can ge pulled by handcart in that time. Like @WinstoBot , I wonder what the real delay is? Fixing any QC issues would be a great reason for the delay. Others have mentioned the blue windows. As long as we can avoid another MP QC issue, I’m perfectly fine with it. But yikes!

 

Alas yes.   The delay was announced a while back, but we've all been getting AJ emails today again about it. Release date Nov 23, ETA December 1-4. (At least for me, west coast U.S.)

Guess we'll try this again as the next show is in Nov, I believe. If CJ is a remold/reshell of new we won't have to wait till then possibly to see him if he's really happening.

 

Maybe. About the blue windows that is. The ones we have seen are technically "unofficial" samples.

I'm pretty sure it's a show in November, but now I'm thinking ,why are you thinking that ? 
I'm pretty sure there's another show before the new year and wonderfest in Feb. Or maybe it's they've done their own event in November before.

 

Tokyo Comic Con is November 22 to 24. I think they showed off some new Studio Series, Street Fighter crossover and Star Wars crossover figures there last year.
We got confirmation on their attendance and a mock-up of their booth on November 15 last year so we should find out more somewhere next month.

Got a little bummed today remembering that we were supposed to have this lil' guy in our greasy mitts this week! Looks like he'll be worth the extra wait!

 

Imo this is the best look we've gotten at him. The lighting and clarity there really make it clear how premium the paint apps look in-hand.

More importantly though (at least to me, I'm sure many still won't agree, which is fine,) it really demonstrates how there is not so much as a half cm of wasted space in this design. Virtually every bit of space down to the half cm or less looks to be utilized, up to and including having to compress wheel wells and engineer grooved channels on the sides of panels for other parts etc., and it definitely demonstrates why the kibble looks the way it does and why there was simply nowhere else for it to go without making a larger figure or one with misshapen ab/chest proportions imo.

Given that choice, I'd much rather have a great looking and well proportioned Bee than one that looks more off and too large, but has a cleaner back.

I just checked out the video and I’m thoroughly impressed with what TT has done with BB. I lost count of the many pins and rivets needed to achieve a toon look in both vehicle mode and robot mode. I think one of the best features is the waist section. The articulation is a lot smarter these days and it shows in BB. I’m glad that I have two paid for. At least the wait won’t be twice as long.
