I seen a few MP-45 Bumblebee for sale from China, but it was only recently today watching Tydirium that they're KOs. Does anyone have one and are they any good?

 

Showz has one but it's not clear if it's a straight ko or it's factory leak.

Anyway, if it has been already koed in short we will see a lot of them on ebay

 

They're on ebay already and I'm glad I didn't buy one as I though it was the original.

 

I think they are more likely factory leaks. Either rejected and stolen from the factory or just straight up stolen parts from the factory. But don't know for sure. I have one on the way from ShowZ cause I'm cheap AF.

I might want one, just for the alt mode. I like MP21 better as bot, but his alt mode doesn't fit anymore.

 

I bought this as well from Show Z.

Im inclined to think they are factory “5 finger discounts” as they come with all the accessories but no box. If they were KO I don’t see why they wouldn’t be coming in a box like other KOs.

Hopefully that is the case, which would help justify the still relatively high price tag (though much less than $120 for official).

I don't think they're KO's. Speaking with Taobao sellers these are factory leaks, excess, rejects. I'm thinking it's one of these that Bobby reviewed a while back.

Mine's coming from Taobao so keen to see if it's similar / same to what's been reviewed

 

They are not KO’s, factory rejects/assembled outside of the factory . (Have to say this before people go on rants how expensive KO’s are getting)

Wow, pin sizes and slight font sizes are hardly worrisome.....

 

How so? They are all still real world cars. Just less paint and blue windows

 

Since everything is looking more cartoon, which I aplaud to let's say 80%, all the other cars still look good, but Bumblebee being a real world Beetle looks weird compared to his cartoon counterpart.

 

Just got mine in from @ShowZStore - very speedy delivery, thanks, though unfortunately a big waist/rear bumper piece immediately snapped during careful transformation, which is obviously very upsetting.





Haven't ever seen an official MP-45 to compare, but there are definitely a few issues here. I've got:

• Badly-applied and patchy paint on the eyes and mouth on all three faces. An easy fix, fortunately.

• Missing/blobbed white paint on two of the three faces, which will require more careful fixing.

• Assorted tiny yellow paint chips after one careful transformation. Though this may also be true of the official (as with MP Megatron 2.0).
  
  
• The gun doesn't fit into the hand, apparently due to too shallow a recess. Trying to fiddle it into bent the trigger.

• Chest Autobot logo isn't quite straight - you have to look very closely though.
  
  
• Text on I love NY license plate is slightly wonky.
  
  
  
  
• And worst of all, the waist piece with the rear bumper sheared off from only the slightest pressure. It can be held in place by other parts, but falls off easily when posing. What a shame. The hinge is too thin to be glued.

Apart from the break, the only 'serious' issue is the eye paint, but again I can fix that.


I'd probably go with thinking it's made of factory reject pieces rather than a KO, but without seeing the real deal it's impossible to say.

As a figure, it's pretty good. Awkward in a few places, and the feet look comical from the side/back, the torso looks like a mess of parts from the side, but the backpack isn't as goofy as feared.



Overall, makes the original MP Bee look faintly ridiculous.



It's impossible not to smile at the alt mode. It's deeply charming, even if it's not at all realistic.



I'd be happy with what I paid for it had it not broken, but I have to say I'd feel like a total mug if I'd paid the boxed original price.
