Did you just file down the season one faceplate? Or did you do some kind of sorcery ?

    Took it apart

Looked at how I could reposition the mouth plate at a higher angle, while it still sitting in deep enough

Realised I would have to shave parts off bottom of the "face"

Realised I would have to shave off sides of the mouth plate

Shaved gently each parts with a hobby knife, slowly and little by little, trying out the fit all the time

No magic, just patience combined with frustration

You know that toy/diaclone release would be pretty sweet with MP 53/54

Finally received a copy that worked. Third times a charm. Now how do I display his trailer? Next weekend I will clean the clutter on this shelf and shuffle some guys around. 3D281EA7-DD3D-40E3-9D20-32E5D1B1720D.jpeg

MP-44 has become my holy grail of Transformers to get. Hopefully the right sale comes along and I can get him sometime this year. Until then MP-10 is holding his spot.

If that doesn't work I need to find the perfect girlfriend who will buy it for me as a surprise gift!

I hope they keep selling it for a while until the time my wallet can take it.

Not sure if I ever read up on any definitive explaination for the wobbly/loose legs. (not the knees, but the legs themselves)

    Was this intentional?

If I hold Prime up by his waist and give a gentle shake, his entire lower assembly, and legs, just go all around the place. Doesn't hinder standing or posing at all, but still, just kinda wondering what's up with that. Additionally, is there anything I can do to remedy that.

    Thanks all.

(I'm sure this was discussed somewhere already, but my searches turned up nill)

I think the consensus was that they left the legs a bit loose to allow for the hip skirt mechanism to work smoothly.

I disassembled my copy and inserted a cut-out donut of blister packaging plastic between the hip skirt and thigh joints on each side and it worked perfectly to stop the wobbling while still allowing for the spring loaded mechanism to work without too much friction added.

As for the wobbly waist, I tried using pledge but it didn’t help too much, wore down pretty quickly.

Finally got my MP-44 from BBTS a few hours ago. I've gotten a real kick out of all of the photos I've seen in this thread. l I just hope I don't have any QC issues.

The one I just got from BBTS didn't have any QC issues that I've noticed. Even the paint seems to be holding up great in some of the high-rubbing areas.

Hey folks! Question for the group…

I finally picked this dude up, and am duly impressed. No leg issues, but there is this weird area on the back of his neck hinge (the red piece) that looks like something has broken off. Also some stress marking. Or maybe it’s just a rough edge?

    Anybody else’s look like this?

I would need to take a closer look on mine. I can double check once I’m off work and attach a picture. But nothing that I recall.

Mine looks like you can see where they cut it off the mold but doesn’t look stressed like yours. You will never get a perfect copy of this guy. Took a picture with and without flash. Hopefully it’s good enough for you to compare. Thanks a bunch. Mine looks a bit more rough than yours, but obviously it’s a common thing. Thanks for humoring my OCD!
