Thats what kinda drives confuses me about TE Prime, In theory he is (mostly) the perfect prime, for example one thing I dislike about MP 44( and all recent takara MPs) is the amount of panels that make the bots look messy, this is coming from a guy who doesn't really need all that articulation; as long as I can get them in a cool stoic or gun shooting/holding pose I am happy, and TE has a nice clean look with very little messy looking parts. But when I got TE prime, I opened him, moved him around for a bit, and then just plopped him on the shelf. But when I got MP 44 i kept holding him and messing with him multiple times during the day, I kept having to take him off the shelf haha so I dunno, there's definitely something about the MP 44 sculpt/ proportions that captivated me
I fixed my Marvel Legends Wolverine's ears after watching a video, he just dunked his head under some hot water, held the ears they way he wanted, then ran it under some cold water to set it. Worked like a charm.
See, I can get on board with this. Wonder if they'll include a hitch for the MP-10 trailer like TE-01. Not that I NEED a trailer, but it's the thought that counts. I just never bothered looking in this direction because of the price point. But a lesser price without a ton of accessories? I would probably feel better.
I own MP-44, it it worth buying the KO? Is the MP-44 KO an upgrade with improvements, like the IT Megatron?
I don't own TE-01, but after having watched tons of videos on him and read dozens of comments about him, I think I would say it is the objective best MP to date. Not because it looks the best, or has the widest range of posability, but because of way in which it's parts seem to fit together. How it just looks like it doesn't transform, and how it is as solid as a rock. How it is pretty much dead on to the G1 look, but that doesn't mean he would be my choice for an OP. MP-44 may have large panel lines and gaps, but it' is offset by the beautiful sculpting and articulation it has. It may not be as efficient as TE-01, but efficiency does not in turn determine it's ability to give off the feeling of Optimus Prime. I've seen very few photos of TE-01 that make me like it's proportions and sculpting, while I have seen very few photos that make me dislike the look of MP-44.
I watched some of Ben's review of the KO and you can tell by sight the difference btw the official and KO. Anyone know the lowest price/best vendor for the KO?
The KO also has no paint, making it similar to the TE-01 or Magic Square, and has ratcheted elbows, and luckily not too large ones. The cheapest place I've found is Showz, followed by 2 ebay preorders. I don't know about TF-direct since they only have a deposit now for $30 CAD ($19.95 American)
As far as I am concerned, it is, because you can play with him without worrying about anything breaking if we believe all the reviews we have.
Nop, metallic has a more prominent coating but the original does have a matte metallic coating. I had to take a shoulder apart to replace the smokestack and the inner finish to the plastic is quite clearly different. Look at it closely and you will see It's just very subtle
