this! I had to ship mine back to AJ...won't be getting the official even if they re-issue him...I would rather take a chance on the KO. You aint gonna f*ck me over again on this one TT!
Someone mentioned that AJ stopped selling TT MP-44 directly a while back because they kept getting returns and had to issue refunds due to qc issues.
Theability to learn useless facts inside and out, AKA, knowing a figure like the back of my hand, without ever having held it.
That's why I am surprised that mine are not worse than they are. I also used a decent bit of floor polish over the scracthable areas (thanks to suggestions in this very thread) so maybe that has helped a bit. I wouldn't mind trying to mix my own paint to fix any issues though. If this KO turns out well he may turn into my main MP44 just so this one doesn't get any worse than it is. MP44 is a wonderful figure, but he does have issues and the paint issues certainly get in the way of his playability. I figured he would sell out like that too, but I definitely see why he wouldn't. The high price, QC issues, and fantastic Third Party alternatives have probably kept a bunch of people from getting him.
I want to get a reissue, but we are getting a puppy and she will be getting more love, so I will shift my finances to her a bit. Otherwise, I wouldn’t mind getting another Prime now if the QC stuff was ironed out from the start. I think it’s more that extra were made to meet demand. I still MP44 is one of the better MPs knee issues aside
This actually excites me, something I thought would never happen. But, my front wheel in the driver's side snapped off easily on my first transformation, and with the oeuvre tag and foreign release, I'm afraid to touch him anymore (and haven't. ) I could get one of these and actually transform it. Ive barely looked it mine, and that's a shame, because when I first opened him, I was giddy.
I would say that sent a message to TT about quality, but then they released hound so...... they never learn.
And they won't learn as long as diehards keep forking over high amounts of green for sub-par quality (simply because it's an official Takara product). This has been going on since the TT conehead seekers....actually since the non-conehead seekers.
Agreed. Deviating a bit, but my KissPlayer Convoy also had some paint chipping issues. I know for a fact that it was a plastic. TT seems not to have gotten the mix of paint right (paint to plastic) but my Binaltech Dodge Ram Convoy still is flawless ( paint to die-cast). Is it dumb luck or does Bandai know something that TT doesn't? My SoC issues with the paint is zero though my Mazinger fembots (Minerva) has some rusting joints. Paint is still flawless.
I passed on MP-44 for a few reasons. I thought it wasn't enough of an upgrade from MP-10, the deco was too toon, I really disliked the backpack, some of the cuts and gaps made to accommodate articulation are unsightly, a lot if the accessories felt excessive and unwanted, the price was total daylight robbery, there were two cheaper alternatives coming to market. However I do like the way it looks from the front, even over TE-01 it looks like TFTM Prime which as a child of the 80's I have a particular soft spot for. This not coming with a trailer is a huge bonus, I almost never display trailers, MP-10's stayed in the box, I don't even want the Scarscream dress up stuff. Sadly I expect this KO to to have white 'pants' (thighs and crotch) which is a bit turn off for me. I have fingers crossed for a less show accurate silver 'pants' version. If this is reasonably priced, and of a good quality I might buy one and try and repaint it.
It's kinda sad that Takara has priced themselves out for some people. I guess its my new thing to write is that the Masterpiece line should be affordable to every fan. I actually don't care about it anymore to be honest. All Takara and Hasbro do is run in circles.
