Y'all remember that weathered version they showed off like a billion years ago that was never released?

Wonder if they decided not enough people liked it and so just never released it.

So I got the KO MP-44 Eva colors, but I seemed to have gotten a defective copy because the right leg joint doesn’t have ratchets. Is this a widespread issue or did I just get unlucky?

Sounds like you just got lucky... Is the missing ratchet in the hip or the knee?

Hip. Ratchet to the sides works, but forward is just friction

Sign me up for the sleep version if he comes with cute jammies and a sleep cap.

I bought the newer small backpack version and I had the same thing. If it's like mine was, the ratchet is there, but the spring is too strong for the plastic the hip joint is made of, so the blue ratcheting piece is staying still and slowly chewing up the white plastic of the hip. I had to swap out for the diecast hips and ratchet pieces from my original version KO that had broken.

Ok, I decided to go with KOptimus and you know what? I was not expecting to be hit as hard on the nostalgia button as I was.

Can’t hold his rifle, of course. Will ‘slimming’ the tab work, or just trimming it down?

For me, I had to add some clear nail polish to the tab to create any friction at all.

I have been thinking of pulling the trigger on this guy….but seeing him flat makes me want a painted version. I wonder why no KO company painted theirs? I guess I’ll have to wait for a Takara Reissue. Takara MP used to be readily abailable but I don’t think they ever redid Sunstreaker. Since prime is so pupular do you think they will reissue him with fixes?

Sunstreaker did get a reissue. Takara tried to fix the mold with the Nemesis Prime release and it made the knees worse. I'd say take your chances with the original design.

I'd say for a quarter of the price you can enjoy the latest MP Prime mold for now, then get the official later if they do a reissue. Also gives you a mostly unpainted one that's far less scary to transform back and forth...

I've been looking to buy the small backpack version of this. Could anybody tell me if the waist breaking thing is still a 'feature' of the KO?

I have 5 ko MP-44's: Silver legs, small backpack Prime, Nemesis, Shattered Glass and White Magnus. None have broke at the waist. I'd say go for it.

Thanks! The reveal of the painted MS-02 Optimus has me rethinking if I'd like something more poseable than TE-01 :)

I've been considering getting the Evangelion version of this but I've heard its got some rampant QC issues, how bad is it?

I bought the first release of him and mine stayed good for a while. I replaced him with the smaller backpack version and he feels way more solid at the waist than the other one ever did. Feels like they are using a longer pin finally.

Thanks, I wasn't quite certain whether the weak point was caused by the type/amount of plastic used in that component, or the method of attachment.
