But that's the Silver Leg right? I prefer toon white leg version.
If you can help me, what is the major improvement from V2 to V3?

So I don't have the V2 version, I have V3. As I understand it the V3 had better tolerance in regards to the knees and the vehicle mode. As for the white legs. I thibk you may have a hard time finding a V1/V2 Optimus at this point from a retailer, but maybe the fandom can help.

I'm sure with the MS-02 and MP44V4, I think you will find plenty who want to part with their V1/V2s. But as I understand it they break easy during transformation and the ratchets joints degrade.

FYI the silver is just painted over the white should be easy to remove if there’s no option. But I’ve actually grown to like the silver legs better, since it makes more G1 toon sense (Primes thighs and crotch should be the same colour as the smoke stacks and gas tanks.) I even like it better than TE-01

OK, now I need more convincing from you guys. Hahaha... I'm googling now G1 designs of OP.
And you may have a point regarding the Color Palette of Crotch, Legs, Smokestacks and Gas Tanks should be the same.

But there are times the cartoons somewhat showing Crotch and Leg have "a little more white" than gas tank and smoke stacks.
I'm looking now at the MP-10 color palette. The legs isn't white but more on Gray. Crotch, Gas tank & Smokestack are silver.
The R.E.D. figure is depicting the Tak-Tom MP-44 color scheme.
Kingdom and Earthrise OP have gray on crotch, leg, gas tank and smoke stacks
G1 Toy OP have ALL Silver on the mentioned parts.

I agree with you it’s tough when it comes to colour of the toon. A lot is subjective. Like I think grooves arms should be silver because it’s part of the engine although the colour of the toon is an off blue (along with the metallic parts like the tailpipe and rims/engine). So Primes legs and crotch should be silver since his crotch is the bumper and the thighs part of the engine. Both look good, and it may depend on the character and or the rest of the collection. I personally have a lot of the older non plus versions of figures with silver for the metallic parts so silver leg Prime fits in

Having all Mp44 KOs 1 thru 3,Transform Element, and the Magic Square Masterpiece (as well as MP-10, Toyworld, and quite a few others), I'd say the Magic Square is my favorite.

He looks like the toon to me, is blocky, and has good articulation and was about $110 when I bought it. I have the v1 and the metallic and both are great.

I pick him over the others because.. Mp44 is too fidily. Even if you get a V2 or v3 without leg issues, the knees look weird and always got to be cautious with his knee bend. Has some great articulation so fun to mess with but not my favorite. Transform Element probably looks the most toon accurate but I find him very very stiff in terms of articulation and can't really get into any crazy dynamic poses. He's great if u just want the 86 pose of him exiting the spaceship.

Just my 2 cents. I'm glad I have them all, but they each do diff things better.

Where's the best place to pick up a V3 at this point? I got a V1 a long time ago, and basically just put it back in the shell after I saw what was going on with the legs. I think I'd be willing to swap some parts with the combined price tags for a decent MP44.

    Brilliant.

Mine came from showz just not at my house yet. Also does the electronics still work on this ko or has it been removed?

This is a flat back KO so they had to remove the electronics. This was my preference as I do not need electronics in a big backpack, IMHO.
I have not transformed him yet nor do I plan to as I doubt if it will survive the transformation being a KO.

Hey there, I finally took the plunge on V3 with that showz sale as well. I have handled the KO before, V2 I think? Either way, after a couple days of handling, the waist joint snapped clean in half. Has this issue been resolved, or is it just an unfortunate reality of the mold?

The v3 is the silver legs, right? If so, then yes.

And OBVIOUSLY he means "yes" to the issue being fixed.

Someone who is confused by a reply of "yes" to an either/or question.

Pretty sure he was trying to say it's an unfortunate reality of the mold but I can't say I've heard of it being specifically related to the silverpants version. I remember it being mentioned on the first release at least once. I don't think I've heard too many cases of it but I've definitely heard of more than one. Not sure if it's something you can fix on your own but ShowZ is known for having great aftersale support so I'd bet they can get you a replacement part.

Sometimes, I still get surprised by which posts cause a debate. My reply meant that the silver leg (v3) and V4 don't suffer from the breaking waist joint... at least to my knowledge.
