Indeed! I still need to do my add-ons. I’ve been meaning to post pics. But last week I was sick as a dog with bronchitis and then no sooner did I get over that, I ended up with a bad ear infection I’m trying now to fend off. The result of my working too hard and not resting.

still I think tonight is the night and I’m definitely doing those pictures along with some other work I’ve been meaning to get to.

I really hope you will get better my friend. I myself have had my cat put down because he had a cancer. He was my best friend and son as my wife and I can't have a baby. I really had some difficult last 3 days and I don't really want to share about it. So I kind of regret posting it here but it felt natural doing so. This forum is the only place that feels like a shelter and it feels good to talk about some other things and it kind of releases the pain. This episode brings a lot of my life back and now the doctors gave me some hard treatments and stopped me from working. I also have to see a psychologist as I really felt like I wanted to kill myself. So thank you all for being here and sorry for bothering some with my issues. I kind of want someone to write a PDF to fix me now...

Hey @God Orion. I drop into this thread from time to time to check out how the latest iteration of this KO is looking. You reckon the v4 is a good buy?

Honestly, I think it really is. Only had to appply some nail polish (or future) to a very few places but it's all good. Just keep in mind the grille of the bot mode rubs under the truck mode but @Optimus Dime is working on that. Apart from that, everything is really really good!

Will the nail polish make the arms and legs tan in and stay?

Thanks for the replay, dude. Might finally be time for me to take the plunge!

I have MP-49 and have been waiting for Takara to release a trailer-less (and thus, cheaper) MP-44, but with no sign of that, this might be the better bet.

I had to apply two or three coats depending the area and the amount of force it had to take to tab in but so far after a few transformations it seems to have done the trick yes.
I am very curious to know why TT has never released a reissue of the MP-44 mold but I agree it would be nice for people who don't want the KO and who can't afford the complete set.

Is the quality comparable to the real ones? What I really want is a sub 300 delivered YF-19, preferably dx or Arcadia. I've seen them new under 200 in the past, these price increases are fucking insane and bs. Was willing to go to 250, then even 300. But fuck me, I'm not paying a cent over 300 to have it delivered to my house. As bad as I want it, I'd actually feel I fucked my self over for that kinda price. Fuck being a fangirl as I would put it. My favorite mecha design, but not worth it at those insane prices. Someone should ko it fir real, and make it better for half or a third of the price.

My understanding is that the Valkyrie Factory VF-1 figures are pretty close in quality to the Arcadias they are based on. They are going to be your best value in high-end valkyries, honestly. The only way I can imagine you might get a new DX or Arcadia YF-19 for less than $300 delivered is if they make a worldwide release version or if you are able to get one on preorder early at Amazon Japan or somewhere like that. The prices just are what they are. There’s a reason I don’t have a bunch of them myself!

So I took him apart, as I had to do the toe fix on him. So figured hell with it. The grill from what I can tell is slightly thicker then the original one. So when the matrix folds into it it sits further down. That is why it is rubbing. I looked at about 6 or so ways of fixing it, and without getting a thinner replacement I don't see how to do it. You can't sand it down, as it would completely mess the part up. I tried other ways to get it to sit back just a tad bit, thinking that there had to be some way. But with where his side pieces tab in, there is no way. As I said. You would need to sand the front of the grill itself down to remove the new thickness, it is not on the backside. I thought at first it was due to the paint and not being chrome, but I compared the parts to the V1 and V2 I had, and it is the part itself that is thicker. So I am not sure of a good way to fix this one.

If anyone has some suggestions for me to try, please let me know. I will give it a go if it doesn't damage the figure.

    Best Regards,

Was looking for one of the new starscream heads on ebay for my old Starscream cell shaded. Saw some for ~$30. Read a post on another forum mentioned V4 of MP44 for $90 from ShowZ. I've been out of the loop, didn't even realize he was up to version 4. All I remember was the first one with the dark eyes. So if I'm gonna spend $30 for a head might as well get the whole cake for $90.
He is awesome, sorry I can't give any detail review as I don't know what the issues are and most likely won't be transforming him.
But overall he looks and moves great!
    Starscream appreciates the new face!

Having watched several comparison videos of the KO and the official, I've sort of come to the realisation that perhaps my plan to replace all the ratchets in the arms might not be such a good idea since they're kinda more solid than the official. But I still might go ahead and do a complete hip/matrix assembly replacement not just to future proof the waist from exploding but also to sort that issue out with the matrix chamber.

But my package is taking too long to arrive so I can't know for sure. This is the first time I've bought from ShowZStore and the delays are just god awful... I'm not even sure if my KO MP-44 is lost or anything since its been a good week since the last tracking update and it's driving me nuts!

Also shit dude... so sorry to hear about your cat man. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Please take care of yourself man.

We’re all here for you brother.
I think that was close to the surface and needed to be vented. It’s good to do so in the place you feel safe and comfortable. This community is probably one of the best. It’s funny, not much has changed from those days when I was a kid 8-10 years old, playing transformers with my friends. Saturdays we’d meet and show off our latest bot and swap with each other sometimes for keeps, sometimes for a week. Sometimes just that day. The conversations between us about school, our parents, grandparents who were sick, girls, and of course GI Joe, Transformers, He-man, She-ra, Star Trek TNG etc .. that was part of the experience of transformers in the 80s and this forum/website is a modern version of that community. Many of us here have had that experience. That shared feeling and this hobby as well as community makes this the best fandom imho

tbh of all the communities I’ve been in, the transformers one has to be the nicest overall. A lotta people I know are some of the most kindest, most helpful people I know. It has that stronger sense of community that not many others have.

I am confused... you are taking the parts from the KO and putting them on the Real? Or vise versa? Either way, you can't do the grill on the real one... real one is chrome, KO is painted. Explain a bit on what you are wanting to do, and I can try and help you out.

its basically vice versa. When I’ve heard about this KO with the new backpack I always had the idea of replacing the KO’s waist armature with the official one because I have a spare MP-44 that I had broke ages ago because I was a dumbass when trying to perform the hip fix on that one. And since the official one is made of diecast metal that effectively alleviates the whole waist snapping apart issue the older KO’s had. But having heard that the v4 has much better QC than I had anticipated I’m not sure if it would be worth replacing the entire thing since the guy is made with much more sturdier, robust plastic. At least that’s from what I’ve heard in following the thread.

since the official’s matrix chamber is probably thinner than the KO, replacing it might actually solve the grill issue this figure has

I mean. I would personally take the good parts from the KO and put them on the official. That is what I did with a broken one I had of this V4. It has made the official a ton better with the newer better parts. If you were to move things from the Official, remember... he is painted, the KO is not, and if you remove the paint the plastic may not match. But if you do move the matric chamber, you will also need to move the smoke stacks. And remember, the grill in alt mode is fake, so it will be chrome in bot, painted in alt. It's really your choice. It could look really good. Either way, gotta show some pictures when you are done!
