Hey has anyone who over paid on Amazon import fees received a refund or credit?

So a friend of mine finally got around to opening his MP Beast Wars mega and during Transformation this was the result.
Regardless of how minuscule some think the issue is, there is still an issue. Love the figure but I'll always have concerns about that part.

Yes I receive a small refund on almost every order. Although I don’t think I got one for MP-43 for some reason.

Absolutely sucks for everyone who's suffered this fate. I hope your friend is able to get a refund/replacement.

I don't think there's any downplaying of the actual problem, when it arises. It most definitely sucks for those who get the bad luck of the draw.

But the affectation rate seems pretty low overall, and what people are trying to do is dial down the paranoia and fearmongering over the toy in general. The broken samples are likely already broken at the factory level, but it's not until people get the toy in hand that the full extent of the damage actually manifests. The evidence thus far suggests that it's not a matter of wear-and-tear that everybody should be concerned of. If your copy was fine out of the box, it'll likely continue to be fine long after.

You want silver paint not chrome, there's not a drop of chome on the figure iirc. As for brands, most model paints will do provided you properly clear coat them afterwards. Tamiya colour is a good choice, that stuff is pretty hard wearing too.

Jobby has surpassed himself, a humorous and perfect review...and not only becuase he got David Kaye on board, a coup in itself and well worth wait, but becuase he covers it all in a balanced manner...I could not agree with him more. Great tribute at the end too.

I've been away from this thread for awhile.... if you guys remember, my MP-43 suffered a cracked in the crotch. Luckily, I had bought my Megs from HLJ.

HLJ reached out to Takara and they are going to allow a replacement toy. Takara does want my entire broken toy back (yes, the leg totally fell off when I had to transform it back in to dino mode to put back in the box). Hopefully they can examine it and use mine as a R&D piece to improve their products. While there is hope through HLJ, it is truly discouraging with Takara's quality.

It'll probably be a month or so before I get the replacement back from Takara/HLJ. But I hope it all goes well.

Glad to hear you're getting a replacement!
I sent my broken one back to Amazon Japan. I'm keeping the credit there for now and awaiting MP-44's release. I did just work out a partial trade/purchase with a fellow board member here for new MP-43. I'm pretty excited to return him to the Beast Wars roster. :)

Excellent news! I had the same experience with Anime Export and a Spider-man figure I got from them. It took a while and I had to pay return postage but I got it replaced. I hope your replacement is in perfect condition.
