Thanks I hope its in stock for another few weeks and at around 250 still, or if I'm lucky for 220 like the original discount. I have 2 of MP 36. These Megatron are just to damn fun to handle.

I've put mine back as a T-Rex and back in the box, one of the potential "cracks" on the crotch is now an actual crack and I won't be the one that breaks the fucking thing - don't think Kapow will feel inclined to come up with a replacement after over a week of playtime. Transformed it back and forth twice and that's it.

That's me waiting for a 3P to come up with a part to replace it then. Sad/AngryFace.

 

You should still try to ask for replacement or refund since you paid 300+.

 

Urrrghhh after what you experienced with Dinobot this sucks extra hard. I agree with @oku, you should contact Kapow. It's a known and reported issue...Hopefully they can see themselves clear to issuing a refund or replacement.

 

I'll give them a mail tonight, and see what they think.

I realise that it's "unpopular" around these parts to keep harping on about quality issues but much as I LOVE my BW MPs and applaud them for what they are, the only ones I've had no issues (and by issues I mean more than just the odd paint sploge!) are MP38 and Shadow Panther.

For stuff this expensive that's a fucking APPALING record.

Hopefully Blackarachnia will break this streak.

Would you mind elaborating on what kind of use led up to the actual cracking? Reports like this are making me nervous about mine and I’d like to put it through the paces before my Amazon JP return window is gone.

 

I could not agree more. If I were in your shoes I'd be making a right nuisance of myself and kicking up a real stink. TT's QC record of late, especially with the BWMP's, has been disapointing at best. If I'd had your experience I'd be less diplomatic  

 

So this is a crack that formed after use? Damn, we've been hoping that if it didn't come cracked then it'd be okay. After all the speculation I don't know what to do; Loosening screws is good, loosening screws is bad, it's a problem with the hips, it's a problem with the thighs...

 

It had hairlines in that area straight from opening, and with everything else that's been discussed in this thread the first time I transformed it was with the kiddest of kid gloves and a YouTube tutorial to assist. It's not been "played with" it's been posed and stood in my living room since opening. Just picking it up to look at it this evening and the split in the plate is small but obvious to see, so presumably the weight of standing around in Robot Mode encouraged the crack to open.

I could epoxy it if all else fails, but at the moment I'll see what my Vendor thinks about the possibility of a replacement. I'm just very, very bummed-out about it and feeling pretty pissed off about MPs in general with this shit. Their fragility is making me think hard about my desire to have these things versus this sort of frustration.

Just ordered these this weekend and that makes me optimistic. Hopefully you get a replacement soon. I've had QC problems(paint) on most of the G1 MP I own. Fortunately all of my BW MP I have had no problems with yet. The QC on G1 MP is a big reason I decided I'm going to stick to the Decepticons and the very few Autobots I like and that's it.

I know what a bummer this kind of thing can be, my MP Shockwave’s right foot broke the first time I moved it right out of the box. I was already well past my return period on it and it sapped the joy out of that MP for me.

 

Mine has the EXACT same issue, i'm going to try to epoxy it myself to avoid any more damage. I only transformed him to botmode for the review and put him on display. Really sickening its such a problem. no way Takara didn't know about it

 

Oh I noticed those right away but thought those were supposed to tab in under the other panels which they didn't do a good job of.
