Weird thought: is it possible for the original Masterpiece Sunstreaker to swap heads between the cartoon face and the toy face on Spin-Out or Cordon? Because I don't see what's stopping them from releasing a special edition of Masterpiece Sunstreaker that gives the G1 toy chrome hand missile and lets you swap between the cartoon head and shins and the G1 toy head and shins...
Damn, that hadn't really registered with me until you pointed it out. That's a real shame. I made my own custom, but I'd love a full toy version with the toy Autobot logo and black windows. I guess it's not going to happen. Indeed!
Two additional Diaclone-MP-related thoughts: 1. With Spinout, Cordon, Exhaust, Loudpedal, etc. all getting new official names that make them their own characters, I feel slightly cheated that the same didn’t happen with Red Body Bumblebee. I was going to say Blue Bluestreak as well but I guess in term of the Japanese releases “Bluestreak” actually IS a new name. 2. I’m still surprised this is coming out before Black Ironhide. A black repaint + Diaclone homage + Movie homage all rolled together... seems like a no-brainer. I don’t understand why Takara has resisted doing Black Ironhide for so long. I wonder if the Ironhide/Ratchet molds sold poorly or something.
Also known as DK-1. I loved that toy. It was my first TF. My aunt bought it for me back in the day as a surprise, and ever since, I've jokingly blamed her for my hobby. I don't know how she knew I would love it so much. I am so on board for this
Something else I realized: are those blue eyes custom-painted? Like, did you paint them blue yourself?
I wonder if it's because this one was actually released as Bumblebee during the G1 days (the only G1 Bumblebee I own is the red one haha).
Unfortunately that’s probably it. Which doesn’t bode well for a future “Blow-Out” yellow Cliffjumper. At least Bluestreak is a new character and I wasn’t expecting him to be. It just screws with the Hasbro names a bit. I’ve regulated myself to just calling Hasbro Bluestreak “Streak” so they cam co-exist peacefully A black Ironhide would would be awesome with a toy accurate head (made 3D) and given a personality like movie Ironhide. Even though I’d rather have him as a Decepticon.
If only he had smoky windows, a toy insignia, and the dark grey parts of the robot mode used the black of Cordon... It looks like it's the closest I'm going to get, though. I did (I was torn between going for yellow or blue, but went with what the other toy repaints have used so far, and for consistency with the other 'bots). It couldn't have been easier, though - the ear vents and eyes are separate pieces; it's almost like Takara planned for us to repaint them.
Yeah, same, I’ve taken to mentally thinking of Streak, Bluestreak and to a certain extent Silverstreak as separate characters, just to keep things clean. Haha, I like the idea of Black Ironhide having a toy-inspired head included (at least as an option). It would give him a similar look to the Siege Powerdashers, with their oddly rough-hewn 80’s faces.
