Selenium is a terrible material to make armour out of.

I’ve never really been anxious to get this guy due to the kibbly look of his bot backside...but that transformation is nuts and actually looks fun. Takara is full of evil geniuses, it would appear...

I love his transformation. It's on another level from Sideswipe (who I also dig). Complicated enough, and then that simple head-slide up for the bot mode reveal is so choice. So G1 toon.

I’d say go for it. You couldn’t find a back more iconic then Sunstreaker.

I hate obnoxious backpacks. I love Hot Rod, but the backpack on MP-28 ruins the toy for me.

I was initially upset when I saw the photos of MP-39’s backpack, but the more I got to see of it, the more I felt that it looked proportionally correct and gave the figure a nice aesthetic. Plus, it’s more accurate than not. When I got it in hand, all concerns were destroyed - the transformation is simply amazing, and the backpack is a complete non-issue. It’s not an issue that I can live with - it’s a complete non-issue.

I say get him - you’ll be quite pleased!

Sorry, I had a bit of a crazy month last month, but here you go:

I think the main problem with MP-39's face compared to the cartoon is that, other than the curved chin being just a little *too* much, they got the shape of the eyes wrong. Sunstreaker usually has pentagon-shaped eyes, occasionally hexagonal, and very rarely were they drawn in the sort of narrowed frown expression that MP-39 has. They could definitely improve his face with an MP-39+, but I doubt that will ever happen. :)  Still, in 2D, as with many others, the face does look a little more like the cartoon than it seems to in 3D. I would have preferred it too look more like the cartoon capture in the bottom image above, though.

The cartoon ears are a lot more pointed as well. MP-39’s are more round. Thank you though!

I've owned this figure for less than 12 hours and his hip ratchets severely chewed themselves up already. His left leg has almost no ratcheting remaining whatsoever and the right one isn't far behind.

    Is this common?

I’ve had this guy since release, and have transformed him back and forth many times, as well as a ton of posing. His legs are still perfect on mine, and my only QC issue has been one of my shin flaps cracking at the hinge.
