This looks to be a hand painted pronto, so such a small detail may be left out as those are usually tempos.

 

I would have liked a IDW inspired head option. More angles then curves.

 

I thought about it a while back. But I think Diamchoc mentioned that an official and another third party version were being made. Then I decided to wait. I think I'll still keep my shitty two-left handed Spinout after I buy the Takara one, lol.

MP Sunstreaker, love it. I spy with my little eye: a very athletic humanoid silhouette, a small proportioned chest that is only possible with a faux chest ( I actually like the use of hidden parts to achieve a cartoon accurate look, be it 3rd Party or TT), new MP Megatron like hands with opposable thumbs, swappable faces, an alien mask lol, custom fine tuning engine is concealable, a licensed Lambo alt mode , an impressive range of articulation (double hand grip, wrist back swivel, kneeling), small feet (hell yeah), tapered shins (nice!), ab crunching, ...beautifully done.

 

Man, still can't get over this. So happy to know this guy is on the way.

After spending some time looking at these images, I gotta say I'm super stoked for this guy. So much to like here. The bot mode has a great silhouette and looks crazy articulate, the alt mode looks fantastic and hasn't been compromised for the sake of toon bot mode (Look! He's got wing mirrors and tail lights and exhaust pipes!! Amazing!!!), and we've got fun options to play with as far as they engine intakes go.

In terms of the things I'm not liking, it's a small list:
1. the head sculpt - doesn't look very good or all that accurate, but after Ironhide, I've learned to give TT the benefit of the doubt until we get him in hand; hopefully they'll get it looking better because right now it just looks off somehow
2. The giant faction symbol on his chest - wondering if it will actually be this large in production? Wish it was smaller, but maybe they want it to feel more in scale next to sideswipe and his giant Autobot symbol

Overall though, this feels like a home run to me. Compared to the last real car reveal (Inferno), this one feels WAY better to me out of the gate (and I love Inferno).

As the holy grail of my TF universe, I'm so happy (and relieved, actually) that my favourite character is getting a great MP treatment with a totally bad ass alt mode.

It's going to be an excruciating wait knowing he's on the way, but guys SUNSTREAKER IS ON THE WAY!!!! Holy shit it's happening. I'll be ordering three (maybe even four?) of this guy as soon as POs go up.

So with you there. LOVE the return of a licensed alt mode with all the real world trimmings.

Seeing them side by side, it does look like Lambo allowed them to fudge some things just a little for the sake of the bot mode. Those headlights look like they had to be scaled down and maybe even reshaped a little.

 

Not gonna lie, when i saw this pics for the first time i thought it was everything but not a TT figure, that really impresses me.

Nice, my fav character. Can now use badcube for the stunning alt mode and Takara for superior bot mode.

Also excited to get (hopefully) another small Takara MP car box. They look so good together.

Well now THAT was a nice surprise to see today. Looks great... albeit very panel'y and likely not too fun to transform.

 

Hmmmm...a real car alt. mode with a parts forming supercharger that can be left on for transformation? Too bad no one called that one...oh wait  

Sorry, had to go there. Sooooooo looking forward to this figure.

BTW, the greebly forearms, and toy accurate (and far superior IMO) autobot logos put this guy firmly in line with the real car series and make Megatron (and to a lesser extent grapferno) a real outlier with that toon logo (even though I don't really notice anymore).

Also, wow! Beautiful! Cannot wait! This was a nice treat. Interesting how he shares many design cues with SunSurge, but that beautiful Autobot sigil means he's real! He's really real!

Now we just need Jazz, Hound, and Mirage, because those are the other three legally messy ones.

 

Can't complain too much on the 3P offerings but I felt they were never close enough to perfect for me to bite. This, however, nails what I want in my MP collection.

Now, just need a Jazz of this caliber, followed by Hound. Takara, feel free to show us one of those tomorrow and the other on Wednesday.
