Blue text is denote sarcasm. Takara's track record with Beast Wars is very spotty. Have they even made up their damned minds as to whether Airazor is a girl or boy yet?

Now that is just flat out wrong.
Beast Wars 2 and Neo were made because Japan didn't get season 2 of BW proper right off the bat.

 

Anyway, I’m just hoping that we can all agree that this release represents peak anime-accuracy, and that is a bad thing.

How about we just do Masterpieces that look good from now on? If the cartoon model looks goofy, give me something cooler.

I do agree that it doesn't look that great, but darnit I want one anyways just because I always thought DragonBall Baboon Butt Primal was hilarious back in the day and didn't have the money at the time to get the original.

Yeah I can't say it any better than what's been said. I totally agree with the notion that this was ruined due to being just a plain blob of textureless/detail-less plastic, and trying to be too toon accurate.

The only upside to this was that we found out about this and had pics within an hour. It wasn't as big a letdown as if I had to constantly check this thread full of images of the cartoon and wonder what could have been. It was a quick and painless death. RIP fun and cool one off random repaints.

 

Looks accurate to the source material to me. dunno what people were expecting.

It doesn't look particularly appealing to me either, but I was never gonna pick this up in the first place.

Edit: although looking at the screen grabs, a lighter pinkish-red for his thighs, biceps and feet would have been nice. As well as a darker blue for his helmet.

Anyway. Incredible. I look forward to seeing the beast mode pics soon! I love the more so than not toon accuracy. Really hope those helmet colors get tweaked before release. They need to mute the daylights out of that blue lol
