Bumblebee... The Jonah Hill/Ricky Gervais of Autobots.  

 

I was in love, now not as much. The color is a little too orange, and the pudgy face, although accurate, isn't my cup of tea. I was really digging the amazon.jp facemask.

 

Oh, PLEASE let this get a stateside release!

 

Yeah, "really good" for engineering an almost screen-acurate design when the previous official figure was closest to a brick with arms 30 years ago. Screw those engineers that calculated tolerances for their mechanisms to fit hidden inside the alt mode! Screw those toy designers that made this such an alluring addition to our collections! All their hard work does not deserve acknowledgement! The best form of flattery is imitation, right? And, let's ignore the fact that the price tag includes another figure (whether wanted or not)!

I'm here to collect KOs! Can't wait until there are KO AOE figures to buy!

 

Well said. Indeed. Unfortunately when talking to people like this or with this mindset they simply do not care about all the work involved. They think things should be cheap and that money is the most important thing. And whatever they can get for the cheapest is the best for them and screw anyone else. (And no I'm not just talking about people who buy KO's. I'm talking about the mindset of people who always think things should be super cheap and that they don't care about all the time and work that went into something and that it isn't worth such and such a price and should be $20 etc etc. )

So even though your post is well thought out you might as well be screaming at a brick wall. Actually... screaming at the brick wall might get you more progress.. it might actually absorb something...

 

I've no complaints whatsoever, actually the folks complaining like when MP-10 was first announced will be the same ones clamoring over this once it's released.

 

Well, he does have a point that $70 is too much, when you consider he retails for less than $50.

 

I honestly never cared for Bumblebee. No, worse, I actually disliked Bumblebee. Not until he became Goldbug in the Marvel comics; only then did I start to like him (but technically he wasn't Bumblebee anymore).

But I have to admit that I really like how this looks. Sure, there's some kibble, but they did an amazing job for such a small figure. It's an MP I look forward to.

Still, it doesn't really look like G1 Bumblebee because he's now a realistic Beetle. Would've preferred chibi but I can understand why they couldn't do that.

 

i'll probably wait for a g2 version or goldbug

Personally, I'm looking forward to both figures in this SET.

Still, I guess Spike mass-shifts when he gets out of Wheeljack and into Bumblebee.

That sounded less wrong in my head.

 

Bee looks great! My only quibble is the face is a bit odd looking but that could be just the lack of paint. Some DIY metallic blue on the eyes and silver on the face oughta spruce that right up.

 

It seems that a lot of people don't like his face. I've sort of made my peace with it, but I do think silver paint might have brought out the edges more - that is the main problem, the lack of definition on the polygonal edges at the sides, along with how the light and shadow falls on the lips and makes him look as though he's puffing out his cheeks. The smiley face looks better because of that. Still, it's the most accurate G1 face we've had:

 

He looks awesome in the new images. Can't believe its been a year since BBTS first leaked news of this figure. Cannot wait to get my hands on him!
