Personally, I love that they're sticking to bot scale, and I think he looks great. Renews my hope for a bigger Grimlock as well. Now let's get Cliffjumper goin'. Smart car-lookin' hugaboo please!!

 

I can live with that. He'll be in bot mode most of the time anyway.

 

Because those are limited and sell out pretty quickly, leaving only the higher prices at the middle men retailers.

 

HLJ still has them available to order RIGHT NOW.

 

Problem is, those who with BB was a little bigger haven't displayed the need to lash out against or whine about those who are content with the small size...

 

Being a Masterpiece only collector I don't actually care but I'm pretty sure those toys weren't built/designed with scale in mind.....unlike MP10+.....

That is really damn small for the robot, but the alt-mode is going to look like it's still (30 years later) two lines mashed together, instead of one.

To those that like it, obviously you will be and should be happy. For people (like me) that wanted the Autobots to look a set or cohesive group, it's disheartening from a collecting standpoint.

I doubt we'll get a high-quality KO at 1.25 - 1.5 the size.

 

...and even then, when the orders do get sent out from HLJ, they have had extras to sale as well, usually the day after. WCS, you might pay the full $60 instead of $50, but that's still better than $80 any day of the week. Plus you don't pay until they ship. There's no excuse to pay $80 with all those pros.

 

To anyone surprised by Bumblebee's size, what were you expecting?

 

The scale looks about right to me. Plus, I'm old enough to remember seeing these cars on the road on a regular basis; the classic beetle was a pretty small car.

 

And MP Grimlock and the current MP Seekers are?

 

That's size-accurate for Bumblebee in Robot mode. Considering mass-shifting is (shockingly) not a real thing, it's impossibly for Bumblebee, Prowl and Optimus to be size accurate together in BOTH robot and vehicle modes. Most people care about robot, so that's where they went. Having a bigger alt mode and therefore a bigger robot will do nothing to make the group "more cohesive". This is as good as it gets, so I'm ecstatic.

Grimlock, no, he's pre-MP10, but the Seekers are scale accurate in robot mode.

Dude, save yourself the trouble. Those quotes have been posted DOZENS of times, but clearly many, many, many people here are literally too ******ed to comprehend what's been going on since MP-10. If they can't realize by now what the hell this line is about - between the Hasui quotes AND the mere existence of the actual figures - there's no hope for them. Just let them sit there banging away on their keyboards in their helmets. The good news is that none of the banality is actually going to affect or change anything.

 

Or some may not be aware of the interviews.

Grimlock's a little too small according the scale chart, but with G1 animation as inconsistent as it was, it's close enough. He was often shown standard "leader" size, especially by season 3. MP Grimlock does look a little skinny in the thigh compared to MP-10, but I display them on separate shelves to avoid it. He looks great with Rodimus or the car-bots.

Starscream's bot mode size is pretty spot on. Just short of Optimus. I'm not so rigid that I'm going to crucify Hasui and TT if they're a hair off from the scale chart. I like to think most fans aren't either.

The thing is, this is the closest we G1 nostalgia nuts will ever come to having figures representing the original cartoon that I, and many others, were obsessed with in our childhoods. I've waited 30 years for these guys. I'm not going to pass on a single one because I'm a nitpick.

Believe it or not, I have him pre-ordered. I just wish he was bigger, and I don't feel bad about it.

My biggest problem are the scale nazis being dicks about it- especially since other MP's force them into the "close enough" camp.
