Well that puts pay to any V2 rumours for a while at least. Works for me, I never though we needed one.

Takara reissued him like two years ago, so probably Hasbro Asia?

If this is a regular version and not even a + release, and is a Takara reissue rather than a Hasbro Asia reissue, that pretty 100% confirms in my mind that we will get a v2 Soundwave.

Sure IF those two things are correct I'd conceed that maybe a V2 version is back on the cards. It wouldn't confirm it in my mind though.

The only reason I can see it being another TT reissue of the regular version is if it's a last hurrah before a v2 a couple of years later.

Weird though, I was expecting an MP-13+ announcement any day for an end-of-year release. I guess this pretty much confirms that we won't be getting an MP-13+ this year, regardless of who is releasing it.

They didn't get Dinobot and I imagine Sunstreaker was pretty popular so I'll seperate those. The other HA only releases, Rodimus and Soundwave are definitely options for Takara redos. After Bluestreak, I wouldn't be surprised for modified Ratchet
/Ironhide.Basically because it's time for Takara to reissue them too and they passed.

MP-13 is my fave masterpiece of all time. Glad to see a reissue. This guy isn't appreciated enough and I think people should get him before any V2 version comes out

Yeah, very strange that this isn't a 13+. Now what does this do to the Blaster theory? Is he coming alongside a straight MP-13, or will he be delayed another couple of years for a v2 Soundwave? Or will he just come out not paired up with Soundwave at all?

Paired alongside MP-25+ instead? Really don't know, it's all very weird. He must've been close when 15/16E was announced/released, and that was how long ago now?

It would seriously annoy me if Soundwave got a V2 before Starscream. Soundwave fits in way better with the current MP line than V1.5 Starscream who’s still limping along with the original base mould.

Missed opportunity for an animated repaint, or even a limited comic book look

Last Shot Soundwave, v2 confirmed! Haha. I don’t know if an MP Blaster and Soundwave 2.0 would be “paired” any more than MP-36 and MP-44 are paired - nearly 2 1/2 years apart! Of course in MP time a year is like a week haha.

It's like, who's even the market for this? We all know the score, we all know this doesn't fit with the current aesthetic and either a + or a v2 is on the way. Who buys outdated Masterpieces?

Ah, but they did start on 3.0 while working on Megatron. Does make me wonder if we'll "start" the anniversary with Prime 3.0 and "end" it with Rodimus 2.0, as he was the first odd reissue.

Yeah good point, man. It did seem like a good 'selling point' for Blaster, but promo pics of him with whatever Soundwave on the back of his box can have the same effect.

It doesn't look so bad alongside MP-29+, colour-wise, insignia aside.

MP-20 was reissued a month before MP-30 came out. Until people actually see a new version, they will make do with the older version.

If anything this is a sign that the line is alive and well in territories where Hasbro Asia operates, enough that new fans who came on after April 2017 (date of last MP-13 reissue) are looking to pick up a Soundwave for their collection.
If they can make money one more time from an old mould, they will.
