    ----------

I didn't want to cut up my instruction booklet, so I tried to add the two screens to the energon cube papercraft that TakaraTomy put out. It's not perfect but this will give you both screens + the pink cube, and you could probably cut out the white cube too if you guess at the bit that's cut off since it's an internal part that folds inside.

    Soundwave-Papercraft1.pdf

Just make sure that when you print it, you aren't squishing its size to fit the page or anything. I tried it out and it seemed to work!

    Couple of tips:
    • With the screens, cut inside the white border or they may not fit right.
    • The Energon Cube isn't actually a cube, it tapers on one end. This means the papercraft cube needs to go in a certain way.
    • You don't need to glue the papercraft cube, just fold it together and it should hold its shape. Once it's inside the clear cube, that'll hold it together too.

And if you don't want your Energon Block to look like Optibotimus' Failed attempt at Papercraft (the one seen in his review of MP Soundwave)
    A. make sure you're using Cardstock. You can use normal Printer Paper for the Screens, but Cardstock is a must for the Energon block (Since it holds a shape much better than Printer Paper)
    B. Make sure your printer has Color Ink. In his review, Optibotimus' Energon Block came out Streaky with a really bad Gradient effect. That tends to happen when your Color Ink either runs out or hasn't been used in quite a while (Speaking of which, I need to do a few Test Prints since my own Printer has sat unused since last summer)

Really, this is just common sense among Papercraft enthusiasts, but Just a heads-up to the TF community.

I found regular paper worked for the cube if I was really hardcore gentle with it. As long as its sides are all as concave as can be and you don't push it too hard, once it's in the plastic cube it's good to go.

Interesting that the cube is actually tapered...

    :lol  at 'hardcore gentle'

Cheers for putting this up mate, saves me the effort of making a high res scan of the paperwork. Now if only my SW would clear customs. Its almost been a week since he arrived in the country...

I've been really curious about how this would look too, and what the general reaction would be to TT putting this out. Thank you for sharing :thumb

I hope this doesn't offend anyone, but I work in printing and this was a little too low-res for my tastes. So I spent a few hours re-creating this and also added some more "display" options.

I'm picking up my MP Soundwave after work, so these haven't been test fitted yet.

    Hope you like.

    Enjoy! :D

    this is a preview only

Thanks, the white box was on the original, so I figured I'd leave it...

just for that reason ;)  maybe somebody will want a Synth-en Cube or something :lol

is that from my file or the original? I (like a dumb ass) left my print at work! :banghead:
