MASTERPIECE MP 12 SHATTERED GLASS SIDESWIPE. Sideswipe is a former Autobot from the "Shattered Glass" continuity family. Sideswipe was once an evil Autobot, and one of the most sinister of Optimus Prime's elite Seeker trio MP 12 SHATTERED GLASS SIDESWIPE was made by using just release Masterpiece MP-12 Sideswipe. I have modified his chest that resembles his comic book appearance in Shattered Glass series having his trademark slash thru his chest. The Color scheme was taken from Comic book art and fan art. It really one best Masterpieces transformers as much I do love MP-10 Prime* Sideswipe does come very close being my favor Masterpiece. Thank you everyone for stopping by and checking out my latest custom. ADDITION PHOTO MP-12 SG SIDESWIPE ON FACEBOOK
Your paint work is top noctch as per your norm , looks factory fresh ! I dont know jack about the shatted glass world...whats with him having both faction symbols?
I don't know the SG series so I can't say I'm a fan of the color scheme, but there's absolutely no denying the sheer awesomeness of your work on this.
Shattered Glass Sideswipe was based on the Armada Wheeljack mold, who in that fiction was an Autobot-turned-Decepticon. He had a large Autobot sigil across his chest that was crudely slashed out, with a small Decepticon sigil underneath. So since SG Sideswipe was a straight redeco of that mold, he becomes an Evil Autobot-turned-Heroic Decepticon. It's crazy how fast some of you guys work. The toy just came out, man. Great, clean paintwork. One nitpick, though. From the head-on view, you can tell that the large SG Autobot symbol is a bit crooked. There's also a paint chip in his right headlight.
SG Sideswipe was a redeco of Armada Wheeljack and, Just like the figure whose mold he reuses, Decided to defect to the Decepticons.
damn, that is awesome. XD I don't think I could bear to rip a hole in his chest though. >____< like im too much...
Yes, see, yet another use for the MP-12 mold that doesn't require a poorly passing Sunstreaker. Excellent work.
I like the colors, but did you have to gash the chest so bad? It seems like a faux scratching across the autobot symbol would suffice. Since there is no other damage on the entire figure the toy actually looks damaged instead of it being intentional. The gash is so deep it's made an actual hole and you can see the paint work underneath. I think you went too far.
I can't tell if this is a joke or not. The gash in the chest is very much in style with the Convention release in 2008.
Not bad, but some of the paint looks a bit messy. On another note, how painful was it putting that slash in his chest... I mean... I just got the shipping notice for my Sideswipe... so you did something to a really new figure most would look down upon haha. Looking good though, love it.
That is just part of character he is. once evil before now turn good. thank you sir. very much yeah very true. (the tape pull a bit on some areas) It decently it was one hardest figure I had painted in a while. thank you bro. all the best to you and your work to. thank you for the comment thank you I can't really reveal how I got him. but thru few connections it appear at my door step. thank you bro. Cheetor I though he was better fit to used MP-12 more I work on it. there few other custom will be made from him. thank you for comment. thank you bro Yes I have done him all ready. you may want to check on past posting history. I totally understand but it had to be done.. once saw cut was made no turning back. thank you thank you bro for your comment; surely it not first or would be last. Yeah i waited to last moment possible to put in the slash.. I still think it give a that vibe that would be mistake by nothing else.
As someone who sees "shattered glass" as just more useless confusing clutter in the TF universe (its just cons as good guys and bots as baddies with new colors...) It hurts me to see such a new and cool figure turned into something that in my opinion is WAY less cool than just good old Sideswipe, but I do get the idea behind it. Maybe tidy up the paint work in a few spots and it'd be a total win to those who like SG stuff. Yeah, the big chest gash also saddens me, but it does look a lot like it is supposed to. Despite some rough paint spots, you definitely did good at what you were going for.
I like the gash....it makes a huge statement. What I am surprised about is that it's a Shattered Glass repaint that was first and not a G2! Good job
